As we welcome the month of May, we reaffirm our commitment to health, dignity, inclusion, and equality for all people.

At Health Fonds, we continue to advance S*xual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), mental health awareness, and access to quality health information and services for young people, key populations, and vulnerable communities. This month reminds us that health and human rights are deeply connected, and no one should be left behind.

In May, we also join the global community in observing IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia) on 17 May. This day calls for reflection and action against discrimination and violence faced by LGBTQIA+ persons. We stand in solidarity with all individuals, reaffirming the importance of respect, safety, and equal access to health and social services for everyone, regardless of s*xual orientation, gender identity, or expression.

Together, we continue to build inclusive systems, challenge stigma, and promote compassion-driven communities.

💚 Health for all. Rights for all. Equality for all.

🌸 Health Fonds Women’s Month Message 2026 🌸
Theme: Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.

This Women’s Month, Health Fonds stands firm in advancing Rights, Justice, and Action for ALL women and girls — in every community, every space, and every stage of life.

We believe that rights are not privileges. They are fundamental.
Every woman and girl has the right to:
• Access quality and youth-friendly SRHR services
• Live free from Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
• Manage her menstruation with dignity
• Access accurate health information
• Participate equally in leadership and decision-making

Justice means dismantling the systems that silence, exclude, and disadvantage women and girls — especially young women, rural women, women living with HIV, women with disabilities, and those from marginalized communities.

Action means we do not just speak — we implement.
Through our Community Advocates Model (CADs), community dialogues, theatre for development, school engagements, and youth-led advocacy initiatives, Health Fonds continues to move from conversation to transformation.

This month, we call on:
✔ Leaders to protect and promote women’s rights
✔ Communities to challenge harmful norms
✔ Men and boys to be allies and role models
✔ Young women and girls to raise their voices boldly

Because when women and girls thrive, communities prosper.
When rights are protected, justice becomes possible.
When we act together, change becomes unstoppable.

Health Fonds remains committed to building a future where every woman and girl lives with dignity, safety, equality, and opportunity.

Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.
Not someday. Now. 💜✨

Health Fonds Trust Zimbabwe is proud to be participating in the CSO Charter Development Meeting for Global Fund Grant Cycle 8 (GC8), convened by Zimbabwe AIDS Network in partnership with National Association of Non-Governmental Organizations and FACT Zimbabwe.

We are currently represented by our Coordinator, who is actively contributing to the development of a unified CSO Priority Charter that will strengthen civil society voice, coordination, and influence in Zimbabwe’s HIV, TB and Malaria response.

At Health Fonds, we believe meaningful engagement ensures that young key populations and vulnerable communities remain at the center of health financing and advocacy conversations.

Together, we shape stronger systems. Together, we amplify community voices. 💙

We at Health Fonds are thrilled to see key populations being prioritized with the official introduction of Lenacapavir — the twice‑a‑year HIV prevention injection — in Zimbabwe.

This long-acting PrEP represents a major step forward in expanding choice and convenience in HIV prevention. As highlighted by the Minister of Health, it complements existing prevention methods and reinforces the importance of relying on trained health professionals for accurate guidance.

Lenacapavir strengthens our prevention toolkit and empowers communities to stay protected. Together, we can continue to advance HIV prevention, inclusion, and access for those who need it most.

As Health Fonds, we are proud to share that our Coordinator recently participated in the 42nd GIMAC Pre-Summit Consultative Meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Convened by the Gender Is My Agenda Campaign (GIMAC) Network ahead of the African Union Summit, the meeting brought together African women’s rights organizations and allies to advance gender equality across governance, human rights, health, economic empowerment, climate change, and peace and security.

His participation as a male advocate was intentional — reinforcing that gender equality and access to safe water and sanitation are collective responsibilities. He highlighted how WASH gaps disproportionately affect marginalized women, women living with disabilities, young women in rural communities, and key populations — increasing risks of GBV, period poverty, exclusion, and dignity violations.

Engaging in AU and UN-influenced policy spaces strengthens our ability as Health Fonds to translate continental commitments under Agenda 2063 into local advocacy, community programming, and inclusive policy dialogue in Zimbabwe.

From continental dialogue to community impact — the work continues. 🌍

Today, 4 February, we join the world in commemorating World Cancer Day 🌍💙
Under the 2026 theme, “United by Unique,” we are reminded that every cancer journey is different—and that truly effective cancer responses must place people at the centre, especially key and vulnerable populations who often face the greatest barriers to prevention, diagnosis, and care.

At Health Fonds, we advocate for equitable, patient-centred cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, and support that responds to the unique realities of underserved communities, including young people, women and girls, rural populations, and other marginalized groups. No one should be left behind because of who they are, where they live, or their socio-economic status.

Cancer is not just a medical challenge—it is a justice issue. Together, united by our uniqueness, we can build inclusive, compassionate, and accessible cancer care for all. 💪✨

2026 MESSAGE | HEALTH FONDS

Amidst shrinking civic space and persistent human rights abuses, Health Fonds continues to stand firm—anchored in justice, health, and the power of communities.

We believe in solidarity, in the leadership of young people, and in the transformative potential of community-driven solutions. In 2026, we reaffirm our commitment to placing young key populations and vulnerable young people at the center of our work, ensuring their voices guide the responses to the health and human rights challenges they face.

We remain unwavering in our dedication to the protection, health, and empowerment of women and girls, recognising that gender equality, bodily autonomy, and access to essential services are fundamental human rights.

Even in the face of adversity, Health Fonds continues to organize, advocate, and act, promoting both health justice and human rights as inseparable pillars of thriving communities.

2026 is a year to strengthen our collective voice, defend rights, and advance health for all.
Together, we rise. Together, we protect. Together, we transform.

Health Fonds – Human Rights Day 2025

Today, Health Fonds joins the world in observing Human Rights Day 2025 under the theme “Our Everyday Essentials.” Human rights are the foundation of our daily lives—they ensure access to food, healthcare, education, safety, and dignity. However, for many young people and key populations in all their diversity, these essentials are often limited or denied.

Young people living with HIV, s*x workers,Gender Diverse individuals, adolescents, and other marginalized groups face intersecting barriers that restrict their access to fundamental rights. These include stigma, discrimination, violence, limited access to s*xual and reproductive health services, inadequate mental health support, and social exclusion. Such challenges undermine their ability to live safely, make informed health choices, and participate fully in society.

Health Fonds continues to advocate for these communities, ensuring that HIV prevention, care, and support services are inclusive, youth-centered, and rights-based. We work to empower young people and key populations to claim their rights, access their everyday essentials, and live with dignity.

On this Human Rights Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to a world where every person, regardless of identity, status, or background, can access their everyday essentials and enjoy their human rights.

Health Fonds joins the world in celebrating Human Rights Day 2025. ✨🙏
