Tomorrow with ActionAid Zimbabwe, in collaboration with Change The Code Campaign, The Africa Youth Advisory Board on Disaster Risk Reduction (AYAB-DRR), Zimbabwe Resilience Network, Activista Zimbabwe, we convene "A Young Women's Protection Centred Humanitarian Reset for Southern Africa" at the Southern Africa People's Solidarity Network (SAPSN) organized 2026 SADC People's Summit.

As the humanitarian system shrinks, we ask the hard question: will young women's protection be centred, or sacrificed? Extractivism, climate injustice, debt, and inequality-by-design have made this a polycrisis — and young women carry its sharpest edge. We're not here to admire the problem. We're here to reset the terms

📌 10 youth researchers were selected from across Zimbabwe’s 10 provinces

The symposium will serve as a dynamic platform connecting youth-led research with decision-makers and institutions shaping Zimbabwe’s Disaster Risk Reduction agenda

From establishing Africa’s first national Youth Desk on DRR in 2024 to presenting Zimbabwe’s first youth DRR position paper at the Global Platform in Geneva in 2025, the Zimbabwe Youth Symposium has become a key platform for youth leadership in disaster risk reduction.
