Today, our Executive Director, Darlington Takudzwa Vandira, and our Media & Communications Officer Nadine Kachembere attended the premiere of TRAPPED at Alliance Française de Harare.

Directed by Stan Joni, produced by Blessing Ncozana, and written by Paradzai Makosa, TRAPPED is a powerful and thought-provoking film that confronts the harsh realities of child marriage, spiritual abuse, and the loss of childhood experienced by many young girls.

During the post-screening discussion, our Media & Communications Officer emphasized the importance of taking this film beyond traditional cinema spaces and into communities where these challenges are most prevalent ( the ghetto).

At Child Advocacy and Empowerment (CAAE), we believe awareness is most effective when it reaches the communities that need it most. We applaud the filmmakers for creating a compelling piece that sparks dialogue, challenges harmful practices, and amplifies the voices of vulnerable children.

Be Ready we'll be working with film producers to make sure Trapped is watch in the places that needs it the most.
