GRRA Applauds Recent Urban Infrastructure Milestones! ๐Ÿ™๏ธ๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ

We are witnessing positive changes in our city!

Gweru Residents & Ratepayers Association (GRRA) formally commends Gweru City Council for the successful rehabilitation of the vital Sixth Street corridor and the ongoing beautification of our public parks.

These projects are more than just road repairs; they represent:
โœ… Strategic Alignment: Real-world progress under the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2).
โœ… Better Transit: Improved safety and reduced congestion for our local businesses and commuters.
โœ… Enhanced Aesthetics: Restoring pride and creating dignified spaces for all residents.

We believe this transformation is a direct result of improved administrative stability and the new culture of results-based management within the council.

While we celebrate this progress, we continue to advocate for the extension of these high-quality services to all our residential suburbs, including Mkoba, Senga, and Woodlands. We also encourage the council to install color-coded waste bins to support a circular economy.

Together, we are building a sustainable, inclusive, and modern Gweru! ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ผ

Ward 10 Residents: Talking Development! ๐Ÿ“ข๐Ÿ™๏ธ

It is time to move beyond politics and work together for a Better Gweru! Residents joining together for a critical Town Hall meeting with Ward 10 Councillor Paradza to discuss the future of our ward.

We are using the Engagement for Progress (E4P) model to ensure your voice leads to real change.

We were tackling the issues that matter most to you:

๐Ÿ’ง Water Supply: Scrutinizing the replacement of old asbestos pipes and the use of devolution funds to stabilize our water.

๐Ÿš› Waste Management: Getting updates on the acquisition of new refuse compactors.

๐Ÿค Overcoming Polarisation: Reaffirming our core value of a non-partisan approach to ensure development reaches everyone, regardless of political affiliation.

This is a safe space for residents, especially for PWDs, women and youth, to engage directly with duty-bearers.

Co-creating evidence-based solutions for the ward!

๐Ÿ“ข The Journey to a Better Gweru Starts Now!

๐ŸŒŸGRRA is excited to begin our series of Town Hall workshops this April 2026!.

We are creating a "safe space" for 200 direct participants to sit down with local authorities and demand the services we pay for.

Why are these meetings vital for a Better Gweru?

๐Ÿšฐ Water Security: Weโ€™re pressuring the council for immediate interventions in wards like Mkoba to stop the surge of water-borne illnesses.

๐Ÿ’ธ Fair Billing: No more estimated bills! Weโ€™re scrutinizing the councilโ€™s internal costs and new billing technology.

โ™ป๏ธ Clean Neighborhoods: We are seeking updates on new refuse trucks and the relocation of the Woodlands dumpsite.

We are especially calling on our Youth and Women to lead these dialogues. Women bear the heaviest burden when taps run dry, and your voices are essential to designing community solutions that work.

Together, we can ensure our public institutions are responsive and accountable.
