Judy's PadBank

Judy's PadBank A humble initiative that aims to ease the lunar nightmares experienced by the rural girl child during her menstrual cycle. Greetings from PadBank!

We aim to provide sanitary provisions for the rural girl child. we are a humble not-for profit initiative started by Judy Sibanda, a teacher at a school in rural Gweru from her life long passion of empowering the marginalised rural girl child. She realised that the rural girl child faces a lot of challenges and one of them is the lack of proper sanitary ware. Some of the girls use unsanitary impr

ovisions during their menstruation which pose a serious health risk. From Banana leaves to dried cow dung. Others miss school due to lack of sanitary ware which is out of reach for most of them as they come from very poor backgrounds. This prompted her to set up a 'bank ' where sanitary pads could be 'deposited ' so that any girl at the school could come and collect a packet every month. From there PadBank has expanded to the nearby schools, with over a thousand pads delivered to over 200 girls. The aim of the initiative is to provide pads to the rural school girls so that their school life is not disrupted by menstruation. We intend to educate her on the matter in the process. Although the ultimate goal is to provide a sustainable platform for low cost access to sanitary ware, we are taking it one step at a time. We believe we have an important role to play in our communities, we accept any forms of help that comes our way. Please use any of the forms below to get in touch with us should you be interested in donating to the cause.
