|Highlights of the Week|

We’re proud to have had our own representing Gwanda and MatabelelandSouth at SARSYC VI in Namibia this week.

Our Programs Officer is part of a 5-person team from the YCA4SOTRA Alliance of 40 CSOs sitting in rooms with youth leaders, researchers, and policymakers from across Southern Africa.

The theme this year: "Align for Action: Sustaining Progress in Youth Health and Education."
For us, that also means climate. Because you can’t talk health and education without talking about the climate crisis hitting our communities first.

This isn’t just about being in the room.
It’s about putting marginalized districts like ours on the map. Bringing back networks, ideas, and partnerships to strengthen youth programs and climate resilience back home.

Highlights of day 1 of the Youth Indaba under the YCA4SOTRA project📌

The National Youth Indaba under the YCA4SOTRA project brings together young people from across Zimbabwe to amplify youth voices, inspire meaningful dialogue, and shape solutions to the challenges affecting our generation. It promotes active youth participation in governance, entrepreneurship, innovation, climate action, digital transformation, and sustainable development.

The Indaba reminds us that young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow we are leaders and changemakers today. Highlights from the Matabeleland South Regional Youth Advocacy and Partnership Indaba .

The Regional Youth Advocacy and Partnership Indaba brought together youth-led organisations under the YCA4Sotra project facilitated by SAYWHAT, WILD, Save the children and funded by the EU, government institutions, local authorities and development partners to strengthen partnerships and promote youth-centred development

Participants also got a chance to review and present the Youth Position Papers developed during District engagements .

This year, we join the continent in advancing the theme: “Securing Water and Sanitation for Agenda 2063.”

Water is more than a resource , it is dignity, health, opportunity, climate resilience, and sustainable development. As Youth Advocacy for Climate Change (YACC), we believe that achieving Agenda 2063 requires bold action to ensure that every community, especially young people and vulnerable groups, has access to safe water and adequate sanitation.

On this Africa Day, we reaffirm our commitment to climate justice, environmental sustainability, and youth-led solutions that secure a healthier and more resilient Africa.

Together, we can build the Africa we want — one where no one is left behind.
