Janice Urombo, thank you so much for coming to visit us on your recent trip home from the UK. 💛
You have been such a faithful supporter of Kuporesa but even more than that, you’re a dear friend. You’ll always be part of our Kuporesa family, and we’re always cheering you on wherever life takes you.
I couldn’t resist sharing a VERY few photos from 2021… such special memories from our time out in the field together.
For those who don’t know this story…
On one of our missions, we responded to an urgent call for help, which led us to drive the 4x4 ambulance through the bush to a small holding. There, we found a man lying on the floor of a tiny hut. A brick-making oven had collapsed onto him, leaving him with devastating burns. He was in a very serious condition & completely incapacitated.
We treated him there before navigating all the logistics of getting him to Karanda Mission Hospital - about 6 hours away. Thanks to the incredible team there, his legs were saved (although he sadly lost a few toes) & he underwent extensive skin grafting.
Afterwards, we continued caring for his wounds during his recovery & in time he healed & was able to walk again. Looking back, it’s such an amazing story. It was an incredibly painful journey for him & us, but also one filled with hope & so much JOY …. he was so funny & we laughed ALOT!
Thank you again, Janice, for your friendship, your kindness, and for always standing with us.
Love
Laura 💛
