Our Story

Orphans and Vulnerable Children Oasis and Verification Centre (OVCsOVC) is a non-profit organization whose mandate is to identify and address structural gaps affecting Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs) in particular among other vulnerable groups. The organization carries out projects and provides services necessary to protect the best interest of children. In so doing children are identified not as a homogeneous entity but rather as heterogeneous and hence the need for a multi-faceted approach in dealing with their issues. We are all about facilitating protection of children’s rights by children and for children as well as children empowerment, in particular orphans and vulnerable children through technology.

The role of children in development is not set for a distant future but for now. In development planning, often children have been seen as victims of abuse among other social ills but what has been overlooked is that they too can be actors and agents of social change. This organization subscribes to the argument that children are human too and need to be supported in order to gain recognition and full participation in contemporary society affairs. The core of the organisation's philosophy counteracts the view that children are tabula-rassa and hence unable to make individual choices and or have rights to talk about.
