The Mother Africa Trust

The Mother Africa Trust Created as a way for people to “pay it forward” to both the environment and to the people of Zimbabwe. Come join us on our adventure of a lifetime.

We want to help! We create “purpose-driven safaris” tailor-made for skilled and unskilled people, professionals in any discipline, who wish to donate their time and skills to leave a lasting and tangible impression on Zimbabwe, in so many ways. From building new or upgraded infrastructure or changing a life, through to funding education. The idea is to make sure each side in the partnership benefi

ts, sharing knowledge, experience and skills with a tangible and lasting outcome. We source funds and equipment for development and conservation projects. We aim to act as a “connector,” helping people who can help each other get in touch. The Trust, as it is run, aims to bring mutual acceptance of one’s culture, beliefs and the lives they lead.

Last weekend, Captain Ivy, Manager at , proudly led the ASC Netball Team in a tournament organised by the Dete community. 💚🏐

The team, made up of passionate and determined women, may have scored a few goals on the court, but the biggest victory was far greater — connecting with other community members, inspiring one another, and using sport as a platform to promote conservation and unity.

It was truly a day well spent, filled with teamwork, laughter, encouragement, and community spirit. Initiatives like these remind us of the power of women coming together to create positive change both on and off the field.

We remain committed to supporting such spaces and creating more opportunities for women to lead, grow, and inspire within conservation and our communities. 🌍✨

Over the school holidays, we were incredibly proud to partner with to inspire creativity, learning, and a deeper love for wildlife among young students 🐾

Students from Nabushome and Mabale Primary Schools joined us for a fun-filled experience where they painted beautiful bags, explored their artistic talents, and shared moments of laughter, joy, and connection. Watching their creativity come alive was truly inspiring.

These are the moments that remind us why community partnerships matter — empowering the next generation through art, education, and conservation.

A heartfelt thank you to for making this wonderful initiative possible and for investing in young creatives and future conservation champions 💚

Another year, another mission trip.

Huge thank you to the crew for showing up and serving with heart. Because of you:

💛 Children at Ethandweni Children’s Home are filled with hope.
🐔 Hardworking women at Silozwi got a great start with the chicken layer project.
🦁 The Mabale community can now safely keep livestock with two new lion-proof bomas.
🎭 Hidden talents in Dete were discovered and celebrated while promoting conservation through Dete’s Got Talent annual event.
👵 Hardships were eased for our friends at the Old Age Home.
🚚 Medical supplies were delivered to a local clinic.

Grateful for every hand, heart, and hour that made this possible. This is what impact looks like. 👏

Ethandweni Children's Home just flipped the switch on their very own POWER PLANT! ⚡️

Thanks to the unstoppable Mother Africa Trust and game-changing donors David Chitrin & Ilan Wiesenbacher, this incredible home for 42+ kids is now RUNNING ON SUNSHINE!

30 kW OF PURE MAGIC that now fuels water pumps, lights, fridges, and freezers... Even when ZESA says "not tonight"! Who needs grid power when you have the SUN on your side?

But it’s more than just electricity—it’s BRIGHTER FUTURES for these amazing kids. Imagine studying at night being empowered to dream big and knowing their tomorrow is powered by hope in the form of solar panels.

Special shout-out to the teams who made it happen!

We are so proud to be part of the Hwange Tasking and Coordination Group and to receive a funding boost from Panthera for uniforms, tents, and camera traps for our eco-warriors. This has powered our anti-poaching efforts and allowed us to contribute to the protection of the Greater Hwange Ecosystem. We have also been able to provide the local community with another 4 predator-proof livestock bomas to help protect their livestock from predators, thereby promoting harmony between humans and wildlife. This brings it to a total of 36 bomas in the community now.
