Just outside our office window, nature puts on a show for us just now.

This little bird bath has become a gathering place for some of Hillside Dams Conservancy's feathered visitors, drinking, splashing, and taking a well-deserved break from their busy day.

Moments like these remind us that even the smallest water sources can make a big difference for wildlife. As temperatures rise and natural habitats face increasing pressure, providing safe water sources helps support the incredible biodiversity around us.

World Environment Day 2026

This year's theme: Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.

This World Environment Day, Hillside Dams Conservancy joins the global call to reflect on how nature can guide us in protecting the climate and securing a better future.

At Hillside Dams, we are inspired by nature every day. The trees that give us shade, the dams that support life, the birds that depend on clean habitats, and the grasslands that protect the soil all remind us that the environment is not separate from us. It is part of our daily lives and our future.

To mark this important day, Hillside Dams Conservancy has chosen to take the message to Henry Low Primary School where we will engage learners and teachers through a short environmental talk and a Clean-Up Friday activity.

This initiative is a reminder that climate action begins with simple local steps. Keeping our surroundings clean, protecting trees, reducing litter, saving water, and respecting natural spaces are all ways we can care for the climate and build a healthier future.
