Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) is no longer a distant threat, it is happening here, now, and to far too many women and girls.
Every day, someone is silenced by online harassment, violated through image-based abuse, manipulated through sextortion, or stalked across digital platforms. What starts on a screen often follows them into real life, fueling fear, insecurity, and harm.

But the story doesn’t end there. We refuse to let digital spaces become breeding grounds for violence.

At MCC Zimbabwe, we are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with women and girls, defending their voices, protecting their digital dignity, and challenging the harmful norms that make online violence seem “normal.”

Every click, every post, every voice can help rewrite the narrative.
Together, we can make our online world safer, kinder, and more just.

✨ Let’s unite to online and offline.

✨ What does it feel like to leave Winnipeg, fly to Zimbabwe, and step into a world where research meets culture, community, and unexpected moments of connection?
Join us in exploring Dr. Jonathan Sears’ unforgettable field experience in Bulawayo, where a simple evening at the Bulawayo Arts Festival turned into a powerful lesson on cultural humility, vulnerability, and the spirit of Ubuntu.

From walking down Leopold Takawira Avenue to unexpectedly being pulled onstage by the iconic Madlela Skhobokhobo, Jonathan’s reflections remind us that qualitative research is more than methodology. It is about showing up fully, embracing the unknown, and saying “yes” to the humanity that shapes every encounter.

👉🏽 Dive into his story: how a dance, a crowd, and a moment of openness revealed deeper insights into what it means to be a researcher rooted in respect, courage, and connection:

MCC Zimbabwe and its LINCZ research partner are participating in the Research Council of Zimbabwe Capacity Building Programme on Research Management @ Fairmile Motel in Gweru. Day 1 was a success! We were privileged to have Ms Winnet Mupaso, Principal Examiner from Zimbabwe Intellectual Property Office (ZIPO), lead a session on Strengthening Intellectual Property Rights in the Research and Innovation Ecosystem. She highlighted the importance of IPR in fostering innovation and protecting researchers' inventions, outlining procedures for registering patents, industrial designs, trademarks, and copyrights.

The presentation emphasized the economic benefits of a strong IPR framework, showing how patents can lead to commercialisation and profit generation. We're grateful for the valuable insights and look forward to more engaging discussions in the coming days! "

🌍 Introducing the Learning and Innovation Hub! 🌱
We are excited to announce a key innovative element of the Locally Led Indigenous Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Change Adaptation (LINCZ) project: the Learning and Innovation Hub! This online platform will be jointly led by Canadian and Zimbabwean academic partners, creating a space for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Moreover, the Learning and Innovation Hub will promote policy and governance networks in both Zimbabwe and Canada, ensuring the sustainability of project learnings and outcomes. It will serve as a virtual gathering place for data and knowledge generated throughout the project, engaging the international development community and sharing transferable insights.
