Over the past few years, the Zimazing Race has been privileged to support a number of charitable organisations. This has only been possible because of the incredible generosity and support of our partners, sponsors and friends of the Zimazing Race. Your belief in our vision has enabled us to ensure that every race leaves a meaningful impact beyond the finish line.

This year, Masters Paint & Hardware played a special role by helping to create a unique race task where participating teams designed and painted beautiful chalkboards. These chalkboards were then donated , on Saturday 25 July, to an organisation where they will make a real difference in the lives of those who use them.

I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to Luchiano and the Bulawayo City Leo Lions Club for partnering with us to present this donation. The continued support from the Lions is something I truly value. Your dedication to serving the community perfectly reflects the spirit of the Zimazing Race, where adventure, teamwork and giving back come together to create lasting change. I'd also like to extend my gratitude to the friends of the Lions who contributed chalk and dusters to go with the boards, ensuring the classrooms are fully equipped for use.

Once again- thank you for making initiatives like these possible. Together, we are changing lives, one race at a time.

Bulawayo City Leo Lions Club made a donation to the Makokoba family that lost everything when the house burned & destroyed everything. Also extend our sincere appreciation to all club members whose generous contributions made this project a success.

State of the House

The house was found to be in a severely damaged condition. Sections of the asbestos roof were broken, and the timber supporting the roof had been extensively burnt, leaving the structure unstable and at risk of collapsing at any time. There is currently no electricity, as the damage resulted from an electrical fire.

Despite the unsafe conditions, the family cleaned the house and moved back in before any repairs had been carried out.

Quoting the father's words
"I can't start fixing the house now because I still need to pay university fees for my child, who is in the final year at NUST."

*1. INTRODUCTION*
The Zone 2A Lions Club held its *2nd Zone Project* today with full representation from all clubs in the zone.
The project focused on supporting the Command Centre set up by Government, in partnership with the Churches Association, to assist repatriated Zimbabweans from South Africa with hygiene items, clothing and mattresses.

*2. CLUBS REPRESENTED*
All clubs in Zone 2A were represented and participated in the collection and handover of donations.

*3. DONATIONS RECEIVED FROM CLUBS*
The following items were donated collectively by Zone 2A clubs:

*4. SPECIAL DONATION*
We were honoured to have *Friends of Lions, Dr. J. Moyo* in attendance.
Dr. Moyo is one of Zimbabwe’s senior Gynecologists with vast years of experience. He is also the founder of the *first ever IVF (Assisted Reproductive Health) clinic in Bulawayo, located in Suburbs, with an over 80% success rate.*

In support of Lions work, *Dr. J. Moyo generously donated 30 brand new mattresses.*

*5. ACTIVITIES OF THE DAY*

- Presentation and handover of donations
- Address by Zone Chair, *Lion Khosi*
- Vote of thanks by *Pastor Masuku*, Overseer of the Centre
- Group photographs
- The event was well attended and received with appreciation by beneficiaries and stakeholders

*6. IMPACT*
The donated items will go a long way in providing comfort, hygiene, and dignity to beneficiaries upon arrival in Zimbabwe.
The mattresses donated by Dr. Moyo will significantly improve sleeping conditions, as many were previously sleeping on the floor.

*7. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS*
Zone 2A Lions Club extends sincere gratitude to:
1. All Zone 2A Clubs for their generous contributions
2. *Dr. J. Moyo* for the generous donation of 30 mattresses and his continued support
3. The hosts at UCCSA Njube and all volunteers in the community who made the project a success

The 2nd Zone Project was a success and demonstrated the power of unity in service. Zone 2A remains committed to *“We Serve”* and to making a lasting impact in our communities.

On Saturday 14 March, Bulawayo City Leo Lions Club visited Mpilo Hospital Maternity Department to donate baby clothes and to create a working relationship with the healthcare workers in the department. We donated:
1. 25 vests
2. A 2-piece set
3. 2 Rompers

Part of the beneficiaries were two mothers who gave birth to twins, a premature baby, a disadvantaged young girl and other women that were identified by the healthcare workers as most in-need.

As usual, we conducted a needs assessment to identify the other areas we could be of service. We will definitely be visiting again. Ln Nyarai, Leo-Lion Memory & ADC Childhood Cancer Leo-Lion Luchiano went to drop of the rest of the donations we didn't leave at Mpilo Pediatric Hospital for children with cancer. It was donated straight to Kidzcan Bulawayo . We had such a talk with the team.As ADC Childhood Cancer together with Ln Nyarai & Leo-Lion Memory decided to ask them for 100 shoe laces to sale , as the cash will be take back to Kidzcan Bulawayo. It's a project Kidzcan has started in the Private schools . Ln Nyarai said she will help with details for government school to also take Park in the project.

On Saturday 14th February, in commemoration of International Childhood Cancer Day, the following Leo's/ Leo-Lions &Lions Clubs in Bulawayo visited the children’s ward at Mpilo Central Hospital.

An assortment of goodies, including groceries, was donated to help cheer up the children, and we are proud that all the clubs contributed towards this worthy cause.

The District Chairperson and Assistant District Chairperson for Childhood Cancer coordinated this meaningful activity and also made personal contributions.

In addition, ADC Leo Lion Luchiano and a representative from each Club will be visiting KidzCan Bulawayo to donate teddy bears, books, and crayons , all to put smiles on the faces of the children staying there.

A big thank you to ZC Lion Shirley and all the Leo's/ Leo-Lions & Lions who attended and supported.
