Autism Awareness Day - Bulawayo

Xolani Pauline Moyo and the children from Hope Fountain shared their understanding of Autism Awareness in the most beautiful and heartwarming way.

Each child confidently presented their own chart, expressing their unique understanding of Autism and the importance of acceptance, kindness, and inclusion. It was truly inspiring to witness children embracing one another, learning together, and actively taking part in raising awareness within the community.

Moments like these remind us that awareness begins with love, understanding, and creating spaces where every child feels seen, valued, and celebrated. Isnโ€™t that beautiful?

We were honoured to be graced by Mrs Mathambo, Headmistress of Collegiate High School (a high school for Autistic kids), who shared powerful insights on working with and supporting children with Autism.

She spoke about the importance of patience, understanding, inclusion, and creating safe learning environments where every child feels valued and supported. Her experience in special needs education reminded us that Autism is not a limitation, but a different way of experiencing and interacting with the world.

It was an inspiring and educational session that encouraged greater awareness, compassion, and acceptance within our communities. Together, we can create spaces where autistic children are understood, empowered, and given opportunities to thrive.

AUTISM AWARENESS BULAWAYO

14 yearold Takudzwa Chikanga touched our hearts as he courageously shared his personal journey living with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

With remarkable bravery, confidence, and wisdom beyond his years, Takudzwa spoke about his experiences with Autism, inspiring everyone in the room through his honesty, strength, and resilience.

His story was a powerful reminder that autistic individuals are capable, talented, intelligent, and deserving of understanding and acceptance.

Currently a Form 2 student at Gifford High School, Takudzwa left a lasting impression on us all, so humble, so articulate, and incredibly intelligent. He truly won our hearts.

Thank you, Takudzwa, for using your voice to raise awareness, inspire others, and help build a more inclusive world.

A powerful and enlightening session by TS Autism Trust as they shed light on Autism and the importance of awareness, understanding, and inclusion. ๐Ÿ’™

Through their insightful presentation, we learnt more about Autism, challenged misconceptions, and gained valuable knowledge on how communities can better support and empower autistic individuals and their families.

It was truly an empowering experience filled with learning, meaningful conversations, and inspiration. We deeply appreciate the work being done to advocate for neurodiversity and create a more inclusive society for all.

Thank you, TS Autism Trust, for educating, empowering, and inspiring us.

Our events are always entertaining, educating, engaging and fun. This was the entertainment period.

We raised awareness on Autism, While providing psycho social support. Making sure parents had smiles, less burdens and exciting moments. Our autistic kids also loved this. Some were dancing and smiling, the aim was to let them feel loved, carefree, have lasting memories. All this free for the parents.

Made possible by our sponsors.

Thanks to the entertaining group and Lights WakoBulawayo
