The Michael Project

The Michael Project The Michael Project: Reaching children at risk in Zimbabwe Michael died in 1995.

The Michael Project is a ministry of River of Life Church in Harare, and has been established as a result of the needs of children at risk in Zimbabwe. It is named after an orphan adopted in 1994, whose biological parents were Mozambican refugees and victims of HIV/ AIDS. The Michael Project is working with communities in Zimbabwe to reach children at risk. By coming alongside families we help the

m to protect and care for orphans and vulnerable children, and by mobilizing a community-based response to needs like parenting, education and healthcare, we provide immediate and sustainable assistance. We tackle issues such as malnutrition and education through our children's home, pre-schools, community visits and activity clubs where these children are fed, learn essential life skills, have fun and are free, many for the first time, to just be children. We also raise awareness of the needs of vulnerable children, and advocate for fostering and adoption through seminars and workshops.

An exciting chapter is being added to our partnership with Autoworld Zimbabwe. We would love for you to feature in it!

Participate in their this April & help us turn the page for young learners. Whatever copy(ies) of the "Sunrise Series" and/or stationery you donate bridges the education gap for the 150+ children we serve; giving them a chance to create their own success stories.

Let’s make this a month for the books! ✨📖

📚 A small book can change a big future.

This International Children’s Book Day (2 April), we’re launching a Book Drive for the month of April — and we’d love you to be part of it.

We’re collecting children’s books to support young learners and help build stronger literacy foundations where it matters most. Supporting The Michael Project

📖 While all children’s books are welcome, there is a special need for the Sunriser Series — widely used in Zimbabwean schools (Cambridge & ZIMSEC) and proven to support reading development from Grade 1 to Grade 4 and beyond. These books will directly benefit over 150+ children supported annually.

✏️ You can also donate:
• Exercise books
• Stationery (pens, pencils, etc.)

📍 Drop-off point: Autoworld Chisipite Reception
Let’s come together to put more books into young hands — because every page turned is a step forward.

Donate a book. Change a story.

Happy Day!

Our teachers were certified in THRASS (Teaching Handwriting, Reading, and Spelling Skills) today! We are truly blessed to have such a dedicated and passionate team—educators who believe that literacy is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty.

Well done, Team! Let’s go and empower our little ones with the gift of reading and writing.

We had a great time hosting Aime Gotte from Care and Relief for the Young during his recent trip to Zimbabwe.

We always value opportunities to connect with like-minded partners who are passionate about child care and protection. It was encouraging to spend time sharing experiences, discussing best practices, and reflecting on how we can continue to strengthen the care and support we provide to vulnerable children and families.

Partnerships like these remind us that when organisations work together with a shared heart and vision, we can make an even greater impact in the lives of children.

Thank you, Aime and CRY, for taking the time to visit and engage with our team. We look forward to many more meaningful conversations and continued collaboration. 🤝❤️
