🌿 When People You Trust Turn Against You
“Your allies deceive you; the people who are at peace with you will set a trap for you.” — Obadiah 1:7
DEVOTION
Sometimes the deepest pain comes from people we trusted and considered our friends. Obadiah 1:7 reminds us that human relationships can change, and those we depend on may disappoint, deceive, or even turn against us. But this verse also teaches us not to place our ultimate trust in people. When others fail you, God remains faithful. He sees every betrayal, every hidden motive, and every tear you shed. Do not allow someone’s betrayal to make you bitter or cause you to lose your faith. Continue to trust God, because He knows how to protect you, restore you, and lead you forward. What people do behind your back does not change what God has planned for your life.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, help me to trust You above all people. When I am hurt or betrayed by those I trusted, give me the strength to forgive and the wisdom to move forward. Protect my heart from bitterness and remind me that You will never abandon me. May my confidence always be in You. Amen.

Stay Close to God and You Won't See Shame

"Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed." — Psalm 34 34:5

Life is full of challenges, disappointments, and moments that can leave us feeling embarrassed, discouraged, or defeated. However, God's Word assures us that those who keep their eyes fixed on Him will never be put to shame. Staying close to God through prayer, Bible study, and obedience gives us strength and guidance for every situation. Even when circumstances seem difficult, God remains faithful to His promises. He protects, provides, and works all things for the good of those who trust Him. When we walk with God daily, we can face life with confidence, knowing that He will never abandon us or allow our trust in Him to be in vain.

The safest place in life is near God. Stay close to Him, trust His promises, and you will never be disappointed. His faithfulness never fails.

🌿 God Dwells With the Humble

Isaiah 57:15 says that the High and Lofty One, whose name is Holy, dwells “with him that is of a contrite and humble spirit.”

What a beautiful picture of God’s heart! The God who is exalted above everything chooses to draw near to the humble and brokenhearted. You may feel weak, discouraged, or unworthy today, but your condition does not push God away. When you come to Him with a humble and repentant heart, He comes near to restore, revive, and strengthen you. God does not despise a broken heart—He brings life back to the spirit that feels crushed.

Prayer:
Lord, give me a humble and contrite heart. When I am weak, remind me that You are near. Revive my spirit, restore my hope, and help me to walk faithfully with You. May Your presence be my strength every day. Amen.
