📢 Applications are now officially open for the WWF-Amano Fellowship 2027 in Zimbabwe!

WWF Zimbabwe is inviting passionate young people aged between 21 and 30 with a demonstrated commitment to conservation, climate action, environmental education or sustainable development to join this intensive nine-month virtual leadership programme.

📍 Location: Zimbabwe | Virtual
⏰ Commitment: 5–8 hours per month
📅 Deadline: 16 September 2026, 17:00 hrs

: Growing Trees, Restoring Land, Building Livelihoods

Youth leadership is not only about speaking for the future, it is about taking action today, NOW.

In our tree nursery, we are nurturing gum tree (Eucalyptus) seedlings as part of our commitment to , while exploring sustainable opportunities in beekeeping and timber production. Planted at the right place, gum trees provide food for the bees and also timber for construction purposes, especially in rural communities like Makora, Mutoko where wood is still on demand for various purposes (gum trees are multi-purpose trees)

These seedlings represent more than trees; they are investments in , , and .

By combining tree growing, ecological restoration and beekeeping, young people can turn environmental challenges into opportunities for sustainable enterprise and community transformation.

To young people: Start where you are, be part of a larger movement, plant & nurture, learn and lead.

To funders and partners: Invest in youth-led environmental action. Your support can provide nursery infrastructure, training, equipment and market opportunities that enable young people to restore land while building sustainable livelihoods.

💧 Every Drop Counts | Crowhill Park, Mutoko

On 26 August 2026, a fire in Crowhill Park, Mutoko, damaged a water pipe, resulting in significant water loss.

This happened at a time when water rationing has already started in the district, with drought risks looming. At a time like this, every drop counts.

👏 I commend some of the young people in Crowhill Park who quickly recognised the urgency, alerted ZINWA, and took responsibility for their community.

📱 I also applaud their use of digital tools to document the situation and raise awareness. This is a powerful example of young people becoming active community responders—not just raising concerns, but helping to trigger action.

So, are we doing enough to protect every drop of water we have?

🔥 Prevent fires.
💧 Protect water infrastructure.
📲 Report damage quickly.
🤝 Take responsibility for our communities.
