From 220+ applicants, we’ve selected our final team of rangers, all from Beitbridge District.

These guys have shown immense resilience, grit and determination - proving they have what it takes. The focus has now shifted to technical training and bush skills. They’re learning everything from navigation, GPS use, tracking, patrol tactics, communication and more.

Very excited to see the continued growth of these guys!

The recruits have arrived and we’re kicking off our 7 day ranger selection course!

These are the top 36 of 212 that turned up to the recruitment days at the start of Feb - all drawn from Wards 7, 8 and 9 of Beitbridge. We’re looking for resilience, teamwork, integrity and moral courage amongst other traits.

A massive thank you to for all the technical advice and support to get us to this point, and for the generosity in providing two of your Gonarezhou rangers that are leading the selection and training process 🙏🙏

We just had our monthly cattle sale at the RR Livestock Business Centre:

- 110 cattle yarded
- 88 sold, the highest price being USD 1,050
- 10 buyers attended the sale, with our regulars from Beitbridge, Bulawayo and Masvingo

This is one of our efforts to grow the livestock value chain in Beitbridge. Buyers benefit from knowing that when they participate in our sales, large numbers will be yarded (with the expected yarding published a few days prior to the sale) and they will reliably be able to purchase a truckload in a single day.

Local farmers benefit from the higher prices as a result of more competition, and a fully transparent sale process where their animals are weighed and graded before being auctioned.

Awesome having Mike and Rig out from .

They spent a week doing a giraffe count, driving transects across the area and often having to do careful manouvering of the Landcruiser to get photos of the right-side of each individual giraffe.

Looking forward to the results, and then tracking the populations over time, as giraffe can be a key indicator species of ecosystem health.

A new calf was born yesterday in the lower Shashe combined herd.

Cattle in the combined herd are under 24/7 care from our professional eco herders. This means careful monitoring of animal health, and being able to immediately respond to issues when they arise.

There were no issues here, and the cow and calf will rejoin the herd once they’ve gathered some strength.
