Celebrating the young entrepreneurs from cohort one of the Digital Business program under the Going Beyond project! This milestone marks a new generation of empowered, young changemakers equipped with digital and business skills to create a positive impact in their communities

On 20th, 21st and 27th July, our staff, joined other community leaders in celebrating the graduation of over 500 young entrepreneurs from Kasempa and Solwezi districts who successfully completed the Entrepreneurship Training Programme under the Going Beyond Project, implemented by CCCYD.

The programme came as a full package and equipped participants with life changing practical knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship.

The graduation ceremonies were officiated by the Kasempa and Solwezi District Commissioners. In attendance were also other invited guests and representatives from various institutions.

Congratulations to all the graduates, and we wish them every success as they embark on their entrepreneurial journeys.

Charity Centre for Children and Youth Development (CCCYD) successfully hosted an Employment and Business Linkage Event in Solwezi on 9th July 2026, bringing together our dedicated Youth Leaders, Youth Peers, and representatives from various institutions to connect, learn, and create opportunities for a brighter future.

The event served as a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, career guidance, entrepreneurship, and meaningful partnerships that empower young people to access employment, business opportunities, and sustainable livelihoods.

Together, we are investing in the potential of young people and building stronger communities through collaboration and innovation.

You're not a leader if you cannot produce another leader.

Yesterday, it was inspiring to watch Betty Phiri, Programs Manager at Charity Centre for Children and Youth Development (CCCYD), confidently deliver a speech on behalf of the Executive Director at the ongoing Business Clinic organized by Kansanshi Mine and SNV in Solwezi.

Leadership is not about being the only one who can lead; it is about mentoring, empowering, and creating opportunities for others to grow and take up responsibility. Seeing team members step forward and represent an organization effectively is a true reflection of strong leadership and succession planning.

The event has brought together business entities, government agencies, NGOs, youth groups, and women's groups from across Solwezi to share knowledge, network, and explore opportunities for growth and development.

Yesterday, we proudly joined the rest of the world in commemorating Menstrual Hygiene Day with support from Global Glow, bringing together over 100 girls, teachers, and mentors in Solwezi District.

The event provided an important platform to raise awareness on menstrual health and hygiene, promote dignity, and empower girls with knowledge and confidence to manage their menstrual health effectively.

During the event, the Executive Director Mr Alex Bwaluka highlighted the significance of Menstrual Hygiene Day, emphasizing that menstruation is a natural process that reminds us of the beauty of human existence and the vital role women and girls play in society. He encouraged participants to break the stigma surrounding menstruation and continue advocating for access to menstrual hygiene products, education, and supportive environments for all girls.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Global Girls Glow , teachers, mentors, and all participants who made this event a success. Together, we are creating a future where every girl can thrive with dignity, confidence, and equal opportunities.

We successfully concluded a Business Mentorship and Coaching Training for 27 youths in Mushingashi of Kalumbila District. The training utilized a Farmers Business Simulation approach, providing participants with practical, hands-on experience in business decision-making, entrepreneurship, financial management, and problem-solving.

Through the simulation exercises, the young participants gained valuable insights into running sustainable enterprises, managing resources effectively, and identifying opportunities for business growth. We are confident that the knowledge and skills acquired will empower them to become successful entrepreneurs and contribute positively to their communities.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all the youths who actively participated and demonstrated commitment throughout the training. Together, we are building a generation of empowered, innovative, and resilient young entrepreneurs.
