WASH A CAR, FEED A CHILD 2026 DONATION

Today marked a truly meaningful moment as we donated building materials and essential supplies to three local orphanages, Luwi Lwa Nzambi, Gilgo, and Focused Mind. This contribution is a direct result of the proceeds raised during last year’s Wash A Car, Feed A Child fundraising event. It is a reminder that even small acts, when done collectively, can create lasting impact in the lives of those who need it most.

We strongly believe that there can be no sustainable development without including the less privileged in our efforts.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all our partnering organizations, JGM, Rotary Club, CBID, Solwezi Online Updates, and every Solwezi youth who contributed their time, energy, and support. Together, we are making a difference and spreading hope where it matters most.

TODAY KANSANSHI MINE HELD A PRESS CONFERENCE AHEAD OF 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗡.
The press conference was today hosted by Kansanshi Mining PLC to formally launch the 2026 Kansanshi Marathon, scheduled to take place on 9th May 2026. The briefing was a signal to the commencement of preparations for one of major annual sporting events in Solwezi and province at large. This event continues to attract strong and inclusive participation both at local and national levels.

Representing persons with disabilities at the same event, Mr. Samu expressed gratitude to Kansanshi Mining PLC for its continued inclusivity agenda in sports development and community wellbeing. Mr. Samu underscored the importance of the Kansanshi Marathon inclusivity in promoting healthy lifestyles and social cohesion within Solwezi.

Mr.samu used the opportunity to appeal to Kansanshi and other stakeholders to ensure the terrains are user friendly, as well as support his team with suitable devices for sports.
In his conclusion, he thanked Kansanshi for always supporting persons with disabilities in Solwezi. He assured the audience that persons with disabilities will participate in 2026 Kansanshi Marathon and many other programs of development.

Today, we celebrate and honour Persons with Disabilities, recognizing their strength, potential, and the important contributions they make in our communities.

This year’s theme Fostering Disability Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress reminds us that a truly developed society is one where everyone is included, valued, and given equal opportunities to thrive.

Let us work together to remove barriers, promote accessibility, and create environments where persons with disabilities can participate fully in education, employment, leadership, and community life.

Inclusion is not just a policy. It is a commitment to dignity, respect, and equal opportunity for all.

WASH A CAR, FEED A CHILD IS BACK FOR 2025 ❤️
Since 2023, as the festive season rolls around, we've joined forces with the JGM Foundation , the Dream Alive Foundation, and Comfort's Bar Wash to host our annual charity event, "Wash a Car, Feed a Child." This initiative is all about raising crucial funds for three incredible orphanages we support: Luwi Lwanzambi, Focused Minds, and Gilgo Orphanage. Thanks to the generous support of various companies here in Solwezi, this event has become a huge success year after year!

For 2025, we're making it bigger! We've partnered with more organizations, including the Rotary Club of Solwezi, the Community-Based Inclusive Development Network, and the The Phoenix Foundation Zambia, to ensure we can make the maximum impact.

Our theme this year is “Finishing a Foundation for a Future.” We chose this theme because all three orphanages have unfinished building projects, and our goal is to help them finish construction so that every child has a permanent, safe roof over their head.

We urge all Solwezi residents and organizations to join us! Together, we have the power to create a better future for these children.

Yesterday, as part of our Community Based Inclusive Development (CBID) efforts, we were thrilled to attend the Kalumbila Challenge, where persons with disabilities participated in the 5K run. It was inspiring to witness determination, resilience, and the spirit of inclusivity in action.

A big thank you to FQM Zambia for creating opportunities that ensure persons with disabilities are included in such empowering activities. Moments like these remind us that everyone deserves a chance to shine, participate, and be celebrated in our communities.
