CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION DEMANDS PROPER PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION, MONITORING AND EVALUATION

It is gratifying that the Zambian first deputy speaker has urged members of Parliament to help preserve trees and stabilize climate in their respective constituencies.

If this pronouncement has to be effective then proper program must be crafted. Impromptu planting of trees without proper planning is a futile undertaking. In October 2023 a directive was made that schools should plant trees. If today a follow up was made I doubt if many schools would record even half the trees they planted. PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION, MONITORING AND EVALUATION IS A MUST FOR ANY EFFECTIVE PROGRAM...

We need to adopt the technology invented by Maxwell Chikumbutso, a Zimbabwean scientist. The sooner we did the better for us.
