Since 2011, School Club Zambia has worked alongside rural communities in Sinazongwe District to help young people build brighter, more sustainable futures through education, vocational skills, entrepreneurship, and girls’ empowerment.
In the last 5 years, we have:
🌱 Trained 2,148 children through vocational clubs and skills programmes
📚 Provided literacy books, teacher training and catch-up literacy lessons in rural schools
💧 Helped provide access to clean water for 11 partner schools and their surrounding communities
👧 Supported 492 girls who were out of school to return to education
💼 Supported 880 girls through savings groups, entrepreneurship, and livelihood training — helping many care for younger brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, and other vulnerable children to stay in school
🌍 Reached more than 5,000 young people and family members through our wider programmes in Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, Gender Based Violence and Climate Resilience
In a district where opportunities are limited, practical skills can transform lives.
As one participant shared:
"Before joining School Club Zambia, I never thought I could start my own business or use a computer. Now I feel hopeful about my future and want to teach others what I have learned."
We are now building a new Climate Resilience Centre that will create even more opportunities for rural youth to access digital skills, entrepreneurship training, and sustainable livelihood support close to home. 💻🌱
