Gratitude for Your Support at Mr & Miss Namwala 2026

Dear Friends and Supporters,

On behalf of my team at BARLO, I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who supported Mr & Miss Namwala 2026. Your presence and encouragement mean the world to us.

A special thank you goes to our Guest of Honor, Hon. Charity Mwanamwaangwe, and to Hon. Shadreck Mutau, represented by Mr. Nkausu Gracious. We also extend our gratitude to the Zambia Police ((Namwala Police Station), Shipwe Shipwe Nite Club, the Shadreck Mutau Foundation, and all those who contributed financially to make this event a success.

To the contestants and their parents, we appreciate your commitment and support in allowing your children to participate in the 6th Edition of Mr & Miss Namwala 2026.

Congratulations to our winners! We encourage you to lead by example, showing maturity, wisdom, and respect to all those you encounter. For those who did not win, remember that this is just the beginning. Keep striving; success will come with perseverance.

Awareness Raising on Gender-Based Violence and Bullying at Namwala Central Secondary School

In light of the increasing instances of gender-based violence (GBV) in Namwala District, Southern Province of Zambia, as concerned citizens we organized an awareness-raising event for supils at Namwala Central Secondary School. The primary aim was to educate learners about GBV, the effects of bullying, and the challenges faced by young people today.

During the meeting, it became evident that many young girls are experiencing abuse from those they live with and are unaware of their rights or the proper channels for reporting GBV cases. This highlights a critical gap in knowledge that needs to be addressed.

Furthermore, discussions revealed that many learners lacked awareness about bullying, including its definitions and root causes. This underscores the urgent need for ongoing education and support in this area.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Planned Parenthood Association of Zambia (PPAZ) and UNESCO for their invaluable support during this important initiative. Together, we will continue to work towards fostering a healthier and more balanced society.
