At MCDA, we don't just see water as a resource, we see it as a catalyst for change. This year, we joined the rest of the world to celebrate World Water Day with a focus on Water and Gender.
Why? Because when women and girls have easy access to clean water, they have more time for education, leadership, and economic growth. Our campaign slogan says it all: "Where water flows, equality grows."
It was a colorful day of celebration and a deeply educative experience for everyone involved. We left feeling inspired to continue our mission of community development.

Yesterday, we celebrated National Youth Day by witnessing the incredible leadership of our young people from Shimbizhi community. Under the inspiring theme of "Arise and Soar," youth leaders shared their vision for the vital role they play in building stronger, more resilient communities.
Our youth didn't just speak, they took action. Through a dedicated outreach campaign, they distributed flyers and led vital conversations on:
- Ending Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Child Marriage
- Reducing Teenage Pregnancy
- Promoting Environmental Sustainability
We are proud to support these young change-makers as they lead the charge toward a brighter, safer future for all.

To commemorate Youth Week, the inspiring youth of the Chabota community have spearheaded a vital environmental sustainability initiative by planting 300 trees at Chipako Community School and its surrounding villages.
By taking this bold step, these young leaders are making a tangible contribution to local climate resilience and environmental health across our regions. This initiative serves as a powerful reminder that our youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but the active guardians of our environment today.
At MCDA, we are proud to support such impactful work across the Mumbwa, Shibuyunji, and Chibombo districts. Let’s keep growing a greener future together.

Meet the Future of Sustainable Agriculture

Meet Chipego Mooya Mweezi, a driven youth from Mumbwa Child Development Agency (CDA) - Myooye Community.
After completing a vital training on Smart Agriculture and Climate Change supported by Mumbwa CDA, Chipego took action. He launched his own tree planting project, focusing on growing guava seedlings.
He's not just growing plants; he's nurturing a greener future by giving these fruit trees to his community for planting, contributing directly to afforestation and climate resilience.
