The Body of Christ was called to reflect the unity, love, and character of Jesus Christ. When men of God publicly attack or dishonor one another, it creates division in the Church and weakens the testimony of the Gospel before the world.
Even in the early Church, disagreements existed. Paul and Barnabas had a sharp disagreement, yet they did not turn the Church into a public battlefield. In Acts 15, disputes were handled through discussion, prayer, wisdom, and spiritual counsel. The apostles understood that the mission of Christ was greater than personal differences.
Paul repeatedly warned against strife, envy, and division because such things damage the Body of Christ. Leaders are servants of God, not competitors seeking personal glory.
Unity among men of God is achievable here on earth when we choose humility, forgiveness, honor, and submission to Christ. Though we may differ in methods or secondary doctrines, we can still walk together in love and mutual respect for the sake of Christ and His Church.
Public disagreements deeply affect church members and followers. Many believers become confused, discouraged, and offended when they see spiritual fathers or we the men of God attacking one another. Some take sides, others lose trust in leadership, and weaker believers may even drift away from the faith all because of our conduct as men of God.
Social media has worsened this problem by turning ministerial conflicts into public entertainment, encouraging gossip, criticism, and division within the Body of Christ but let us be on guard against this weapon.
This does not mean error should be ignored, but biblical correction must be handled with wisdom, humility, and a desire for restoration rather than public humiliation or judgement.
The Church must reveal something different from the divided world around us. When men of God walk in unity despite differences, the Body of Christ becomes stronger, healthier, and more effective in advancing the Kingdom of God.
May the love of Christ prevail in the church and the men of God love each other day and night.
