On 11th and 12th March, the game will come alive.
Twelve wards will gather.
Young stars will rise.
And Mwandi will witness the power of its youth.

Adding to this historic moment, football icons and scouts will be present, including Clifford Mulenga, Rainford Kalaba, Emmanuel Mayuka, and William Njobvu — coming to witness and support the talent of our young people.

🎉 YOUTH DAY FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCEMENT ⚽🇿🇲 - Mwandi District

The Iris Kaingu Foundation is proud to announce the organization of a special Youth Day Football Tournament dedicated to empowering, inspiring, and celebrating young people through sport.

As part of this exciting event, we expect the presence of some of Zambia’s celebrated football icons, including:

Emmanuel Mayuka

Rainford Kalaba

We shall also soon officially confirm the participation of Clifford Mulenga, who currently serves as a scout with the Football Association of Zambia for the Junior Chipolopolo.

This tournament goes beyond the game — it is about youth development, mentorship, talent identification, and inspiration. As the Iris Kaingu Foundation, we are committed to investing in young people and creating platforms that shape future leaders through sport.

Earlier this week on Monday, the Iris Kaingu Foundation successfully handed over the Simunga Shelter to the marketeers of Mwandi, led by the CEO and Founder, Iris Kaingu. This milestone reflects the Foundation’s continued commitment to empowering local communities and supporting sustainable livelihoods.

The handover was graced by Her Royal Highness of Mwandi Kuta, whose presence and leadership added great honour to the occasion.

The Simunga Shelter is a symbol of dignity, resilience, and partnership between leadership and the people. We extend our sincere appreciation to Mwandi Kuta, the marketeers, youths, women, and all stakeholders who contributed to the success of this important initiative.

STATEMENT ON THE STORM DAMAGE IN MWANDI ROYAL VILLAGE
Following the heavy rains accompanied by strong winds and storms, Mwandi Royal Village has suffered serious damage. Several houses have collapsed, leaving some families without shelter, while ZESCO electricity poles and lines have also been damaged, resulting in power disruptions in the area.

As Iris Kaingu Foundation, we are deeply concerned about the welfare of the affected families, especially children, the elderly, and other vulnerable members of the community. In response to this unfortunate situation, the Foundation is engaging the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU), and other relevant stakeholders to come on board and provide urgent support.

We also call upon well-wishers, cooperating partners, and members of the public to join hands with us in assisting the affected households with emergency relief such as shelter materials, food, clothing, and other basic necessities.

Together, we can restore hope, dignity, and safety to the families affected by this disaster.

Grant us wisdom in our decisions, compassion in our actions, and unity in our mission. May everything we do be driven by love, integrity, and a genuine desire to uplift lives and strengthen communities.

Bless our partners, volunteers, and supporters. Renew their strength and reward their selfless service. May our efforts bring dignity to families, opportunities to the youth, and lasting positive change to our society.
