On 11 June, we joined the Russian Embassy and the Russian House in Lusaka in celebrating Russia Day, which is observed annually on 12 June. The celebration was graced by the Guest of Honour, Dr. Frederick Mwalusaka, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Logistics.
In his speech, Dr. Mwalusaka highlighted the strong and cordial relations between Zambia and Russia and emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the two countries. The event was held at the InterContinental Hotel and brought together members of the diplomatic corps, government officials, alumni of Russian universities, and friends of Russia.

Celebrating Pushkin Day at the Russian House! 🇷🇺🇿🇲📚

Members of the Zambia Russia Graduates Cultural Association (ZAMRUS) proudly joined the world in commemorating Pushkin Day at the Russian House in Lusaka.

The event featured beautiful recitations of poems by the great Russian poet Alexander Sergevich Pushkin in the Russian language and English by Ms. Jessy Nkhata, Ms. Manzwei Harriet Chipungu, Mr. Martin Ruveve and Patricia Kalinga. Their performances demonstrated both linguistic excellence and appreciation of Russian literature.

A special highlight of the celebration was the first-ever Kiswahili translation of a Pushkin poem presented by the President of ZAMRUS, Ms. Patricia Kalinga, showcasing cultural exchange and strengthening ties between African and Russian literary traditions.

The participants expressed their sincere gratitude to Elena Vladimirovna their teacher, Director of the Russian House, and her dedicated team for providing this wonderful opportunity to celebrate literature, language, and friendship.

We encourage all ZAMRUS members to actively participate in future cultural and educational events and to organize similar commemorations in their respective provinces as we continue promoting cultural exchange, learning, and unity.
