The CHAWAMA BY-ELECTION ISN'T A SYMBOL OF HOPE, BUT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE THAT WAY.

The Chawama by-election is not a symbol of hope, but that's the way it should be. We cannot have only one political party winning; parliament needs opposition leaders to provide checks and balances. Imagine a parliament without opposition leaders. We need opposition leaders, but they must provide developmental checks and balances, not just oppose everything, even when it's good and beneficial to the people of Zambia.
Emmanuel has urged opposition parties and the ruling party to adopt the 'one Zambia, one nation' principle as the 2026 general election approaches, promoting peaceful coexistence. As a democratic and Christian nation, Zambia should refrain from involving youths in violent campaigns. Instead, we should heed the words of our founding father, Kenneth Kaunda: 'Tuyende pamozi namutima Umozi, twende pamo nomutima umo,' may his soul rest in peace.
Emmanuel has also encouraged youths and women to participate in the upcoming general election, advocating for their inclusion in leadership positions to achieve balance. He emphasized that youths are future leaders and should learn from elderly individuals in decision-making and governance.
