Motherland Book’ Set to be Launched - Let’s Support Our Youth

We understand that supporting local youth initiatives has often been a challenge within our province. However, if we truly love Luapula and believe in its immense potential, then it is time to actively support the young people who are working tirelessly to tell our stories and showcase our province to the world.

We therefore encourage everyone to support this young author Prosper Blêssings Chanda as he launches his first book, “Motherland,” on 27th June 2026 at Nsange Lodge.

One of the best ways to support is by purchasing a ticket for yourself, a friend, or a loved one. Your support is not just a contribution towards an event, it is an investment in a young person’s dream, talent, and vision for our province.

Through storytelling, our youth are helping reshape Luapula’s destiny, highlighting its rich heritage, untapped opportunities, and inspiring future. Let us move beyond promises and pledges of support and demonstrate genuine commitment through action.

Let us support the youth who are putting Luapula on the map.
Let us celebrate local talent.
Let us invest in our own.

The time to support our local youth is now.

66 Days Remaining to the Polls🗳️🇿🇲

With only 66 days left to the General Elections, the call to young people remains clear: promote peace, unity, and responsible participation throughout the electoral period.

Young people have a vital role to play in safeguarding peace before, during, and after the polls. Let us reject violence, misinformation, and hate speech, and instead champion respectful dialogue, tolerance, and national unity.

My Vote, My Voice, My Zambia.

An informed youth, a peaceful election, and a stronger Zambia for all. 🇿🇲✌🏾

YouthConnect is proud to recognize the leadership demonstrated by our Students Affairs Manager, Kaira Chimwemwe, who also serves as Project and Programs Coordinator at the UNZA-ACC Club. Yesterday, he led a team of students from the club on an educational tour of the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) offices.

The visit was aimed at enhancing the students’ understanding of the Electoral Commission of Zambia, its mandate, roles and responsibilities, as well as the electoral process, particularly as the nation prepares for the 13th August polls. The tour provided an invaluable learning opportunity for the students to engage directly with the Commission and gain deeper insight into Zambia’s democratic processes.

Speaking on behalf of the association and the students, Kaira expressed gratitude to the ECZ for graciously accommodating the tour, the warm reception accorded to the students, and the time dedicated to engaging with them on matters relating to the Commission’s work. He also commended the ECZ for its commitment to youth engagement and for recognizing the important role young people play in strengthening democracy and electoral participation.

As an organization, we take immense pride in seeing our members excel in their leadership journeys by leading through action and serving as positive role models to their peers. YouthConnect has grown into a powerhouse of youth leadership because of the commitment of its members to make meaningful contributions within their communities, institutions, and the broader governance systems of our country.

Kaira’s leadership is a reflection of the kind of young leaders YouthConnect is nurturing through its mentorship, capacity-building initiatives, and leadership development programs. We are proud to see our members applying the knowledge, values, and skills acquired through our community to create impact and inspire others.

Without doubt, YouthConnect is steadily emerging as a movement of empowered, informed, and capable young people who are ready to take up leadership responsibilities and contribute positively to national development.

We are a Youth Powerhouse🇿🇲🌎

With 68 days remaining until we go to the polls, the message from young people is clear:

Lozi:
Kuketa kwaka, Linzwi laka, Zambia yaka
(My Vote, My Voice, My Zambia)

Tonga:
Kusala kwangu, Ijwi lyangu, Zambia yangu
(My Vote, My Voice, My Zambia)

As young people, we recognize that our vote is our voice and our voice shapes the future of our nation. Let us participate peacefully, responsibly, and actively in the electoral process before, during, and after the elections.

🗳️🇿🇲 69 Days Remaining to the Polls!

As Zambia counts down to the 13th August 2026 General Elections, our Youth Peace Ambassador, Bertha Chomba Chileshe, shares an important message with fellow young people:

“With a few weeks remaining before the general elections, let us show up informed. Speak with respect and lead with peace. Before, during and after the polls, reject violence and reject rumors. Queue calmly and accept results gracefully. Our Zambia grows when we choose dialogue over conflict. Vote responsibly, live peacefully. My Vote, My Voice, My Zambia.”

As young people, we have a responsibility to safeguard the peace and unity that Zambia is known for. Let us be ambassadors of tolerance, respect, and responsible participation throughout the electoral process.

Peace begins with us. Democracy depends on us.

🇿🇲 My Vote, My Voice, My Zambia
Informed Youth. Peaceful Elections. Stronger Zambia.

World Environment Day | 5TH JUNE 2026

Today, YouthConnect Mansa-Luapula Initiative Organisation joins the global community in commemorating World Environment Day, a day dedicated to appreciating nature and reaffirming our collective responsibility to protect the environment.

As an organisation, we have remained actively engaged in climate action and environmental conservation initiatives, recognizing the growing impact of climate change on our communities. Through youth-focused capacity-building programmes, environmental awareness campaigns, and tree-planting initiatives in schools and communities, we have demonstrated our commitment to creating a greener and more sustainable future.

As we mark this important day, we acknowledge the critical role that young people play in shaping the future of our planet. We therefore recommit ourselves to serving as Youth Climate Ambassadors and Environmental Stewards, leading by example and inspiring positive action within our communities.

We also call upon fellow young people to join us in preserving Mother Nature, protecting our environment, and building a resilient future for generations to come.

Our Planet. Our Future. Our Responsibility.

We are a Youth Powerhouse🇿🇲🌍
