In preparation for the Day of the African Child, the Youth Coalition visited Matanda Secondary School in Chibeleka Ward on June 11th.

We held powerful discussions with both children and parents on children’s rights, challenges like abuse and early marriages, and how communities can better support and protect their children. The voices of Matanda’s youth and parents were loud and clear: they want safety, opportunity, and meaningful change. 💬✨

Let’s stand together for the African child. 💪🏿

🕯️ Preparations Underway Join Us in Honoring Their Memory 🕯️
Today, the 10th of June 2025, we held the 5th preparatory meeting for the upcoming Day of the African Child.

As the Youth Coalition, we warmly invite the general public to attend a Candlelight Service in remembrance of all children who have lost their lives due to abuse and neglect.

📍 Venue: Mansa Catholic Cathedral Church
📅 Date: 12th June 2025
🕔 Time: 16:00-17:30

Candlelight services are more than symbolic they shine a light on the stories too often left in the dark. Each flame represents a child whose life was cut short, a voice that was silenced, and a future that was stolen. By gathering together, we remember, we mourn, and we renew our collective commitment to protect children and uphold their rights.

Let’s stand together.
Let’s remember them.
Let’s keep the light burning for those who never got the chance.

🕯️ Day 4 of the Solidarity Awareness Countdown 🕯️

Today marks Day 4 of our campaign against child abuse and child defilement.
Each day is a reminder that protecting our children is a shared responsibility.

Let’s not just speak let’s act.
Here are 4 ways we can help keep children safe:
1️⃣ Listen when children speak believe them and support them.
2️⃣ Know the signs of abuse physical, emotional, and behavioral.
3️⃣ Educate children about their rights and personal boundaries.
4️⃣ Create safe spaces at home, in schools, and online.

Every child deserves to grow up in an environment free from fear and harm.
Your voice can protect. Your action can save. 💛
