This week marks 8 years since our founding director Emma first visited Mfuwe 🧡

She felt inspired by the warmth of the community and the beauty of this place. What started as a visit turned into something much bigger… Over the years, she kept coming back.. building relationships, learning, and growing alongside the community.. until she made the decision to move permanently to Mfuwe in 2023 and start Muzanga Foundation.

What makes it even more special?
We are still working today with many of the same people Emma met during that very first trip 8 years ago ❤️

Today was an important day: Labour Day ❤️

A special moment to recognise Winnet and Mr. Ngoma for their hard work and commitment over the past three years 🙏🏾

And even more to celebrate… Sharuben, Emanuel and Samson officially joined our team as full-timers today, signing their contracts!

Another fantastic village tour 🧡

We spent the day visiting the local doctor, cooking traditional food together, exploring our Green Fingers garden, seeing the Hands & Horizons project in action and much more…

It was one of those days where everything was happy happy! Open conversations, and real connections between people from different worlds.

A few weeks ago, unexpected floods hit our Muzanga gardens and we lost all our crops and seedlings. 🥀

But if there is one thing you may have learned about us by now, it’s this: we keep going, and we come back stronger! 💪🏾

Our Green Fingers team came together and has been working incredibly hard to replant, clean, and restore the gardens and it's finally showing the beauty of our gardens again!
And did you know that we sell our organic produce to the lodges and expat community? That’s how we make our Green Fingers project sustainable. 👏🏽

✨Star of the day: Dailess!

Dailess is one of the farmers who joined our Green Fingers project and completed training in sustainable eco farming. 👩🏾‍🌾

Across all Muzanga projects, we make sure that at least 50% of participants are women. In rural Zambia, women often have fewer opportunities to continue their education after marrying young, and we really want to provide these women with opportunities!

Dailess is a beautiful example of what’s possible. After completing her training, she secured a job as an organic farmer in our Muzanga gardens.

She is now able to provide for her family and buy the supplies her children need to go to school.

This is what it’s all about 🧡🧡

A few weeks ago, serious floods hit our area. We lost many of our belongings and the damage was heavy…

But thanks to your incredible support and the crowdfunding, we have been able to repair, restore, and clean our Headquarters at an amazing pace!! 💪🏾
We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated, you truly made this possible!!

Behind the scenes, we are still working VERY hard, at the HQ and in the community as they rebuild their homes. Stronger together, always 🧡
