A Lifeline for Vulnerable Children

Every child deserves to feel safe, cared for, and full of hope. But for vulnerable children in our communities, that basic right is often out of reach. Many face hunger, lack of school materials, or simply the absence of someone who says, “I see you, and you matter.”

Giving is more than money or goods. It’s food on an empty stomach, a uniform for school, medicine when a child is sick, and books that open a world beyond their circumstances. When we give, we remove the barriers that keep children trapped in poverty and give them a chance to dream again.

Material support keeps a child alive, but love helps them thrive. Love is the hug after a hard day, the encouragement to try again after failing a test, the time spent listening. For children who may not have parents or stable homes, consistent love from a neighbor, teacher, or community volunteer can be the reason they don’t give up.

- A community member paying school fees for one orphaned child
- Volunteers sharing a meal and reading stories with kids at a local center
- A church group repairing a classroom roof before the rainy season
- Simply learning a child’s name and asking how their day went

When we give with love, we don’t just change one child’s life. We raise adults who remember how they were treated and go on to do the same for others. That’s how communities heal and grow stronger.

You don’t need to be wealthy to make a difference. Share what you have, give your time, speak kindly, and show up consistently. In Pemba and beyond, vulnerable children are watching. Let them see that they are not forgotten.

Because in the end, the greatest gift we can give a child is not just what we have, but who we are.

Moses Charity Organization and ZCCMIH Partner to Support Children in Magoye

_Magoye, Tandabale – 02 June 2026_

Today was a day of partnership and hope at the Moses Charity Organization office in Tandabale, Magoye. Moses Charity Organization and ZCCMIH came together in a joint charity effort aimed at putting smiles on the faces of vulnerable children in Southern Province.

ZCCMIH generously donated assorted items including shoes, books, clothes, school uniforms, and other essentials to Moses Charity Organization. The handover took place at our office in Tandabale, where Moses Charity volunteers and community members received the items.

“It is always a great feeling to see organizations working together for the same cause,” said Clinton Habuuka, Chief Administrator of Moses Charity Organization. “These shoes, books, and uniforms will go directly to children who need them most as they return to school and face the cold season.”

The donated items will be distributed in the coming days to learners, children with disabilities, and families supported through Moses Charity’s outreach in Magoye, Monze, and Pemba.

Moses Charity Organization thanks ZCCMIH for the partnership and for believing in our mission to ensure no child is left behind. Together, we are building stronger, warmer, and better-equipped communities.

Seeing the Person First: A Love Letter to People Living with Disability

We talk a lot about inclusion, but love goes deeper than inclusion. Love means seeing someone fully—not despite their disability, but as a whole person who has a disability, among a thousand other things.

1. People with disabilities are people first
It sounds obvious, but it changes everything. Before “disabled person,” there’s a friend, a sibling, a teacher, an artist, someone who hates cold coffee and loves old music.
When you meet someone, lead with curiosity about them, not their diagnosis. Ask about their life, their work, their opinions. The disability is part of the story, not the whole book.

2. Love shows up in practical ways
Love isn’t just feeling warm inside. It’s asking “Do you need the door held?” instead of assuming. It’s making sure your event has a ramp and captions. It’s texting instead of calling if that’s easier.
Small adjustments say: “Your presence matters enough for me to make space.”

3. Stop separating ‘us’ and ‘them’
Disability isn’t a separate world. It’s part of human diversity. Most people will experience disability temporarily or permanently at some point in life.
When we talk about “helping them,” we miss the point. We’re building a world that works for all of us. Your classmate who uses a wheelchair might design the building you work in someday.

4. Ditch the two extremes
There are two ways we get it wrong: pity and “superhuman inspiration.”
Pity says “I feel sorry for you,” which puts distance between us.
Inspiration p**n says “You’re so brave for just living,” which turns ordinary life into a spectacle.
Love sits in the middle: “You’re here, you’re you, and that’s enough.”

5. Listen more than you speak
