CALL FOR FUNDING SUPPORT: WHEELCHAIR FITTING OUTREACH IN SINAZONGWE DISTRICT

By Moses Charity Organization

Moses Charity Organization has identified an urgent need in Sinazongwe District, Southern Province.
We have received more than 20 formal requests for wheelchairs from persons with disabilities, the elderly, and children.

Lack of mobility denies these citizens access to healthcare, education, and community life. A wheelchair provides more than movement - it provides independence and dignity.

We plan to conduct a 2-day Wheelchair Fitting and Distribution Campaign in Sinazongwe.
The activity will include:
1. Professional assessment and fitting by qualified personnel
2. Distribution of appropriate wheelchairs
3. Training of beneficiaries and caregivers on use and maintenance

We are calling upon the public, corporate partners, NGOs, churches, and government* to support this mission.

Your support will go directly to purchasing wheelchairs, transport, medical personnel, and logistics.

Moses Charity Organization is committed to humanitarian service across Zambia. We believe that no Zambian should be left behind because of disability.

Together, we can give 20+ people in Sinazongwe the gift of mobility.

TO ELIMINATE GBV IN ZAMBIA

By: Moses Charity Organization | Lusaka, Zambia | 25 July 2026

Gender-Based Violence, GBV, continues to be one of the biggest challenges facing Zambia today.

In our communities, in schools, and even in homes, many women and girls are suffering in silence. The pain is even deeper for the girl child living with disabilities.

A girl living with disability faces double vulnerability. She is targeted because she is a girl, and again because she is seen as "different."
Many survivors do not report because of stigma, fear, lack of access to justice, and dependence on caregivers.
Some are denied education, healthcare, and the basic right to safety and dignity.

Through our work at Moses Charity Organization, we meet survivors in rural areas like pemba and magoye who walk long distances, lack support, and have no safe spaces to speak.
Every story reminds us GBV is not just a women’s issue. It is a human rights issue.

1. Safety First Every girl, with or without disability, deserves to feel safe at home, in school, and in the community.
2. Inclusion Services for GBV survivors must be accessible. Sign language, ramps, and trained staff should be available in police, clinics, and courts.
3. Prevention We must educate boys, men, families, and communities that violence is never the answer.

CALL FOR PARTNERSHIP
As Moses Charity Organization, we are calling on government, NGOs, churches, traditional leaders, and partners like Northern Ireland Zambia to join us in eliminating GBV in Zambia.

Together we can:
1. Establish safe spaces and support groups for girl survivors with disabilities
2. Provide legal and psychosocial support that is disability-friendly
3. Run community awareness campaigns in rural areas to break the silence
4. Train teachers, health workers, and police on how to support survivors with disabilities
5. Support economic empowerment for women and girls to reduce

Today we have put another smile on the face of a 103-year-old woman.
We visited Granny Rebecca Hadungozya of Kakuba and shared joy with her.

At 103 years, her smile reminds us that kindness has no age limit.

Urgent Follow-up Required: Case of Anita - pemba and mayasanino areas.

Dear Team,

Today I am heartbroken to hear the news about Anita, the beneficiary to whom we donated a wheelchair in 2023.

We have now been informed that this year Anita has a child, and that the father of the child is her elder brother.

As Moses Charity Organization, we feel this matter needs urgent attention.
We would like to do a follow-up visit tomorrow morning to assess Anita’s situation, offer support, and engage relevant stakeholders including the family and authorities.

Let’s kindly meet to plan the follow-up and how best we can protect Anita’s wellbeing and dignity.
