Home-StartZambia is a non Profit Organisation based in Lusaka that assists and supports parents facing the challenges of poverty, social exclusion, illness, stress, political and cultural differences and depression. Home-Start was introduced to Zambia in October 2011 from the United Kingdom by Mellissa Joe Smith, to Martha Chileshe and Thandiwe Phiri who had the conviction that this preventive ser

vice would make a positive impact on the problems facing Zambian families and Aids orphans living in child-headed households or with grandparents. This conviction has in many countries proved to be right and has successfully helped parents through seriously difficult times and prevented children from being institutionalized.
