We are excited to announce the implementation of the Holistic Agroecology for Resilience VAlue-Chain Empowerment Security and Transformation (HARVEST) Project, an innovative initiative that will empower youth and women smallholder farmers across Chinsali, Gwembe, Lundazi, Mufumbwe, Chongwe, and Kabwe districts.

The HARVEST project is designed to strengthen resilient farming communities through agroecology, climate-smart agriculture, and sustainable value chains while introducing nutrition-sensitive agriculture for the very first time in YEFI’s programming. Through the promotion of nutrient-rich crops, kitchen gardens, food preparation training, and dietary diversity, the project will directly contribute to improving nutrition among women and children.

At the same time, beekeeping promotes the protection of trees and biodiversity, as healthy ecosystems are essential for thriving bee populations.

Beekeeping further encourages the farmers to practice and conserve the trees. In order to harvest pure honey, the farmers are encouraged to reduce the use of chemicals in their fields.

True impact isn’t measured by activities completed, but by the willingness of communities to embrace and sustain the change.
When people take ownership of the initiatives introduced, projects transform from short-term interventions into lasting solutions.
Because real success lives in adoption, trust, and community-driven action.
