Zambia's first circus provides top notch entertainment for all your corporate and private events. In addition we offer circus and acrobatic workshops for youth, adults and teambuilding workshops. Our Creative Hub hosts a range of events, including circus shows, film nights, art exhibitions and dance parties. And we can host your event as well! These activities support Circus Zambia's social work.

Per year Circus Zambia reaches over 5000 youth from marginalized communities and supports the development of their bodies, minds and souls in order for them to become changemakers in their society. We offer 3 core programs to youth from marginalized communities. In the Body program we offer free circus training for anyone interested. As youth progress to higher levels they are invited to more intensive training and can earn a living as a performer, workshop leader and facilitator. But in all levels of the training the youth learn about trust, communication and discipline! In the Mind program we offer educational opportunities to youth who have limited access to such opportunities. This includes scholarships, tutoring and educational camps. In addition we provide mentoring to guide youth towards career development. In the Soul Program we work on the issues affecting young people in their communities. These topics include SRHR, Human and Womens RIghts, Social Inclusion, Alcohol and Drug abuse, and Climate Change. Through partnerships young people learn about these topics, and by using their talent for circus, theatre and dance, they engage and lead their communities towards making better decisions.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Vibrant and educational”
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Astounding and inspirational” “See this and dream of the stars.”

As our UK tour continues, we’ve been so moved by the words audiences and reviewers have shared about Afronauts.

At the heart of Afronauts is a story of dreaming beyond borders, challenging expectations and imagining new possibilities.

It’s a celebration of Zambian creativity, resilience and the power of dreaming big — brought to life through circus, music, movement and storytelling.
And perhaps the best review is knowing that audiences are leaving the theatre feeling inspired to look up, dream bigger and imagine what might be possible. 🌍✨

🎪 Afronauts is currently touring the UK.
Come see it. Come dream with us 🚀 (tickets link in our bio)

✨ We’re thrilled to begin a new partnership with the Segal Family Foundation !

We’re thrilled to announce our new partnership with the Segal Family Foundation and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead. 🌍❤️
One of the first opportunities this partnership has brought was Segal 2026: The Next BEAT, bringing together a vibrant community of creative changemakers from across Africa and beyond.

Our co-founder Benard Kaumba had an amazing time connecting with fellow implementers, exchanging ideas, sharing best practices and engaging with funders around how we can build stronger, more trusting partnerships and create meaningful change.

Under the theme “The Next BEAT,” the conference invited us to reflect on where we are, where we’re going, and the future we want to help create.
We’re excited to be part of this community and to see where this new partnership takes us next. 🚀

Here’s to the next beat! ❤️

🚀 From Circus Zambia to a new stage in London 🇿🇲🇬🇧

We are incredibly proud to share that John Mputu has been accepted into the Circus Arts programme at the National Centre for Circus Arts in London, one of the world’s leading circus schools 🎓✨

John has been part of the Circus Zambia family since 2016, when he began training in acrobatics, hand balancing and aerial rope. Growing up in Chibolya, circus became more than a passion for him. It became a path to hope, discipline and a different future.

Over the years, John has trained tirelessly and developed into an exceptional artist, recognised for his dedication, hard work and impressive technical abilities. He has been part of many of our shows and is currently performing in Afronauts as we tour the UK.

And somehow, his story feels especially fitting.
Afronauts is a story about dreaming beyond borders, reaching for new horizons and daring to imagine what is possible. Today, John is doing exactly that 🌍🚀

At Circus Zambia, we believe that our role is not only to create opportunities on stage, but to help our performers build the skills, confidence and experience to pursue opportunities far beyond it. Seeing artists like John take their next steps is one of the things that makes us most proud.

John’s scholarship is a huge achievement and an incredible recognition of his talent and potential. But getting to London and starting this new chapter comes with its own challenges.

❤️ We are raising funds to help John with the costs of relocating to the UK and settling into this exciting new chapter.

Every contribution, big or small, can help him take this next step.

From Chibolya to Zambia’s stages, from Afronauts to London: John’s journey is only just beginning.
Help us get him there!

One week in Edinburgh 🚀

AFRONAUTS has been performing at the Fringe for almost a week — and the love keeps coming.

From the press to audiences at Underbelly , here’s little glimpse of what people have been saying about the show.

And honestly? Seeing AFRONAUTS connect with audiences from all over the world has been pretty special 💛💫

Thank you to everyone who has come, cheered, laughed, shared, reviewed and told someone else to come see us.

The Fringe isn’t over yet. 🌍

We had a great post lined up for today, sharing excerpts from this beautiful article in .

We were honestly very proud to see *Afronauts* featured in such a widely recognised newspaper.

Then this morning, we woke up to more than 1,500 comments under the article — around 95% of them some of the most hurtful and openly racist commentary we have seen in a long time.

Our first reaction was to shield ourselves. To ignore it and move on.

But after talking it through with the team, we couldn’t help but see the parallels with the story we are telling in Afronauts: being ridiculed for chasing a dream, being laughed at, and not being taken seriously.

So we decided to carry this with our heads held high.
Because these reactions remind us exactly why this story matters.

Why we need to tell our own stories. And why it is important that African artists are given the space to tell them in their own voices.

We are proud of Afronauts. Proud of this story. And proud to keep dreaming.

If you haven’t seen Afronauts on stage yet, you’ll find us everyday until 31 August at George Square at 1:55pm.
