Circus Zambia Zambia's first circus! We are a social enterprise. We provide unique entertainment and activities wh It is a place by and for creatives.
(2)

Zambia's first circus provides top notch entertainment for all your corporate and private events. In addition we offer circus and acrobatic workshops for youth, adults and teambuilding workshops. Our Creative Hub hosts a range of events, including circus shows, film nights, art exhibitions and dance parties. And we can host your event as well! These activities support Circus Zambia's social work.

Per year Circus Zambia reaches over 5000 youth from marginalized communities and supports the development of their bodies, minds and souls in order for them to become changemakers in their society. We offer 3 core programs to youth from marginalized communities. In the Body program we offer free circus training for anyone interested. As youth progress to higher levels they are invited to more intensive training and can earn a living as a performer, workshop leader and facilitator. But in all levels of the training the youth learn about trust, communication and discipline! In the Mind program we offer educational opportunities to youth who have limited access to such opportunities. This includes scholarships, tutoring and educational camps. In addition we provide mentoring to guide youth towards career development. In the Soul Program we work on the issues affecting young people in their communities. These topics include SRHR, Human and Womens RIghts, Social Inclusion, Alcohol and Drug abuse, and Climate Change. Through partnerships young people learn about these topics, and by using their talent for circus, theatre and dance, they engage and lead their communities towards making better decisions.

Grateful to The Scotsman for featuring Afronauts and helping shine a light on this extraordinary true story and our incredible artists.

The show is a joyful collaboration between us and Wake The Beast and we loved having the chance to speak about Edward Nkoloso, the Zambian space programme, and the huge imagination, hope and audacity at the heart of this story.

We genuinely believe there is room for many tellings of powerful stories, and we’re proud to be bringing this remarkable piece of history to Fringe audiences.

Thank you to The Scotsman for the feature. With Storytelling PR

The Zambian show has been in the pipeline for almost a decade

A Dream Years in the Making πŸŒ•

As the United States prepares for another journey to the Moon, Circus Zambia and Wake The Beast are preparing for a launch of our own.
After years of hard work, training, and dreaming, our show Afronauts is heading to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival β€” the largest arts festival in the world.
This is more than a performance.
It’s a chance to take Zambian stories, Zambian talent, and Zambian creativity onto the global stage.
For Circus Zambia, this moment could be a true launching pad into the international performance circuit β€” opening doors for our artists and proving that stories from Zambia belong on the world’s biggest stages.

But we can’t do it alone.

If you believe in the power of art, youth, and African storytelling, you can help us make this journey possible.

🎭 Circus Zambia in Mpulungu 🎭
A few weeks ago, we had the privilege of facilitating a powerful 2-day training for actors focused on Forum Theatre 🎭✨
With the collaboration of FISH4ACP, we worked closely with a local drama group, explored how theatre can be used as a tool for dialogue, reflection, and real community change. Through Forum Theatre, we created safe spaces to raise awareness on Pela Akakupela and encourage
meaningful conversations that inspire positive action within our communities. πŸ’¬πŸ’™

FISH4ACP is an initiative of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) aimed at making fisheries and aquaculture value
chains in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific more sustainable. FISH4ACP is implemented by FAO with funding from the European Union (EU) EU International Partnerships and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) Bundesministerium fΓΌr wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ)
This work continues to show how storytelling and performance can go beyond entertainment becoming a voice for important issues and a catalyst for change.
We are truly grateful for the collaboration and support from Theresa Kasupa, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), FISH4ACP, Bridge Common Narratives, and Circus Zambia. πŸ™πŸΎ
