AFRICA FREEDOM DAY 2026

Today, Young Volunteers for Environment Zambia (YVE Zambia) joins the rest of the continent in commemorating Africa Freedom Day, a day that reminds us of the courage, sacrifice, unity, and vision of Africa’s freedom fighters who paved the way for a liberated and self-determined continent.

As we reflect on our journey as Africans, we are reminded that true freedom must also include the freedom of our people from poverty, inequality, environmental degradation, and the growing impacts of climate change.

At YVE Zambia, we believe that the future of Africa depends on empowered young people, resilient communities, sustainable development, and collective action to protect our environment and natural resources.

As we celebrate this important day, let us continue working together to build an Africa that is peaceful, green, innovative, prosperous, and climate resilient for generations to come.

Happy Africa Freedom Day!
Long Live African Unity!
