The Zambia Youth Water Forum has expressed deep concern over the recent accident at Sino Metals, which resulted in the pollution of the Kafue River in February. The devastating spill has led to the death of fish and harm to other aquatic species, causing irreparable damage to the ecosystem.

We urge the responsible authorities to take immediate action to:

1. Investigate the cause of the accident and hold those responsible accountable.
2. Implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
3. Provide compensation to affected communities and support rehabilitation efforts.

As young people, we recognize the importance of protecting our water resources and the environment. We demand a commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible practices from industries operating in Zambia.
