FORMER PF AND SOCIALIST PARTY STRONGMAN INNOCENT KALIMANSHI LEADS OVER 3,000 DEFECTORS TO UPND AHEAD OF CHAWAMA BY-ELECTION

Former Patriotic Front (PF) and Socialist Party (SP) strongman Innocent Kalimanshi has led more than 3,000 defectors from various opposition political parties to the United Party for National Development (UPND), just days before the Chawama parliamentary by-election.

UPND officials said about 1,500 of the defectors are leaders, drawn from different opposition parties, a development the party says reflects growing confidence in President Hakainde Hichilema’s leadership and the performance of the UPND government.

The defectors are coming from several political groupings, including the PF, Socialist Party (SP), Citizen First (CF), and Zambia Must Prosper.

Senior UPND leaders led by Secretary General Hon. Batuke Imenda, Lusaka Province Chairman Obvious Summerton Mwaliteta, National Youth Chairman Gilbert Liswaniso, and other party officials formally received Mr Kalimanshi and the defectors in Chawama Constituency.

Speaking after joining UPND, Mr Kalimanshi described his decision as a “return home,” appealing for forgiveness and acceptance from the party leadership and members. He said defections from both the PF and the Socialist Party were continuing, with more members expected to join UPND in the coming days.

UPND said the mass defections demonstrate growing support for its development-driven and inclusive agenda, and signal strong momentum as the party heads into the Chawama parliamentary by-election.

THOMAS SIPALO SPREADS CHRISTMAS JOY IN MUNALI CONSTITUENCY

On the eve of Christmas, Incoming Munali Constituency MP Thomas Sipalo , widely known as the Komboni President, brought festive cheer to the community by surprising over 100 women with practical and heartfelt holiday gifts.
The initiative saw the distribution of essential household items, including washing powder, soap, mealie meal, and live chickens.
Mr Sipalo posted on his page a message reflecting the power of generosity, no matter the scale.
“We believe in sharing... With our spirit of sharing what little we have, we decided to surprise over 100 women of Munali Constituency with some small Xmas gifts. No matter how little we share”
This heartwarming gesture forms part of Sipalo's ongoing commitment to serving and uplifting the people of Munali, where he has long been a prominent voice advocating for community development and positive change.

Jerabos apologize to President Hichilema!
Small-scale miners in Chingola have apologised to President Hakainde Hichilema following violent disturbances by some youth during his recent visit to the district.

The miners, commonly referred to as jerabos, distanced themselves from the unruly behaviour and pledged to work with Government in promoting peace and economic development.

The apology comes after an incident last month when a group of youth ran amok, damaging public and private property and stoning the podium where President Hichilema was addressing marketeers who had lost their goods in a fire.

The miners said they regretted the actions of the youth and assured the Head of State of their commitment to law and order.

Speaking on behalf of the miners, Sydney Mwila condemned the violence and said the group supports the President’s fight against illegal mining activities.

GIVEN LUBINDA MISSING, ABDUCTED BY UPND THUGS...😭💔

Hon. Given Lubinda has been reported missing following a disturbance that disrupted a scheduled party meeting in Kabwe on Tuesday.

Witnesses say the event, which was meant to address party structures, was interrupted by UPND thugs group.

In the confusion, Lubinda was reportedly separated from his team, and efforts to locate him since then have been unsuccessful.

PF officials have expressed deep concern and have called on security wings to immediately investigate the incident and establish Lubinda’s whereabouts.

Meanwhile, police in Central Province have acknowledged receiving a report and confirmed that investigations have commenced.

They appealed to anyone with information to come forward to assist with the ongoing inquiry.

Lubinda’s family and party members continue to await updates as the search intensifies.
