Our Secretary General Lwiito DS Siangoma was recently featured on the “Health Pulse” radio program on Zambezi FM 94.1 in Livingstone, where he continues to promote public health education and community awareness.

Through discussions on topics such as HIV prevention, blood donation, AMR, diabetes, and hypertension, he is helping bridge the gap between science and the community by making health information more accessible to the public.

We are proud to see his continued contribution towards health literacy and the promotion of laboratory medicine in Zambia and beyond. 👏

AMR - Project

🔬 “AMR is no longer a silent pandemic in Africa.”

During the launch of the Advancing Regional Integrated Laboratory Capacity for AMR Control (ARILAC) Project, ASLM CEO Mr Nqobile Ndlovu underscored the urgent need for strategic investments in laboratory systems to address the growing burden of antimicrobial resistance across the continent.

Implemented under the leadership of Africa CDC and supported by the European Union through the Team Europe Initiative, the ARILAC Project brings together 8 African Union Member States to strengthen microbiology capacity, develop a skilled laboratory workforce, and enhance microbiology laboratory networks for improved surveillance and response.

By strengthening access to quality laboratory services and generating reliable AMR data, ARILAC contributes to stronger health systems and improved health security across Africa.
