This March, young women from Zambia join 60+ peers from across Africa for the 3rd edition of Girls LEAD Camp. Together, they represent 8 countries united by one goal: to discover what it means to truly lead.
The theme this year: "Give to Gain."
It's more than a catchphrase. It's the philosophy driving this week. These young leaders will learn that leadership isn't about taking up space, it's about creating space for others. It's about the networks you build, the voices you amplify, the future you shape together.

What happens at Girls LEAD: โ†’ Confidence grows โ†’ Voices rise
โ†’ Young women step into their power โ†’ Leaders LEAD
Our Zambian representatives are about to experience something that changes everything. We can't wait to share their journey, the breakthroughs, the connections, the transformation.
This is what's possible when girls believe they can lead. And we're here for every moment of it.
Stay tuned for updates from Accra. The future is being written right now.

Building Financially Smart Families at HOGE Primary School, Chinsali

In Week 1 of the Chachinga Program, our teacher oriented parents on the importance of financial literacy in shaping responsible and confident children.

Parents were guided on the four key pillars of the program:

Earn โ€“ understanding how money is made

Save โ€“ building a habit of saving early

Spend wisely โ€“ making smart financial choices

Donate โ€“ giving back to the community

We also extended this knowledge and vision to the wider community, emphasizing that financial education is a shared responsibility. When parents, schools, and communities move together, children grow up empowered to make better financial decisions for life.

Let us continue working together to raise financially responsible and future-ready learners.

Cha-Ching in Motion | Scaling Financial Literacy in Zambia

Our team is hard at work preparing for the largest Cha-Ching implementation in Junior Achievement Zambiaโ€™s history.

๐ŸŽฏ Our target:
โ€ข 200,000 learners
โ€ข 10 provinces
โ€ข 50 districts
โ€ข 2000 teachers

Cha-Ching is more than a program โ€” itโ€™s how we build financially smart, confident, and responsible young people from an early age. By scaling this initiative nationwide, we are laying a strong foundation for lifelong money skills that will shape households, communities, and the future economy.

This milestone reflects the power of teamwork, partnerships, and shared commitment to youth empowerment. The journey is intense, but the impact will be worth every effort.

The future of financial literacy in Zambia is being built โ€” one learner at a time.

Project Management in Action

For the past two years, Olivia Dindi from the PMI Zambia Chapter has dedicated her time, expertise, and passion to Junior Achievement Zambia , mentoring students in the Company Program and helping them embed core project management competencies into their businesses.

From Livingstone to Chingola, Olivia has mentored hundreds of students, equipping young entrepreneurs with practical skills in planning, ex*****on, risk management, teamwork, and delivery โ€” the very foundations that turn good ideas into sustainable businesses.

This work clearly demonstrates the power of project management in business. When young people understand how to scope projects, manage resources, meet deadlines, and adapt to change, their ventures become more structured, resilient, and scalable.

We are deeply grateful for the strong partnership between JA Zambia and PMI Zambia Chapter . This collaboration continues to bridge the gap between theory and real-world application, preparing the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders to build businesses that are not only innovative, but well-managed.

Thank you, Olivia and thank you PMI Zambia Chapter, for investing in young people and proving that project management is not just a corporate skill โ€” itโ€™s a life and business skill.

Last week, a team of four brilliant young girls from Matero Girls travelled to Abuja, Nigeria, to represent Zambia at the Company of the Year Competition. Their innovative solution, SunCool, transforms the power of the sun into a cooling box that helps safely store essential medications.

In a country like Zambia, where power shortages continues to affect many communities, this innovation is more than just creative โ€“ it is life-saving. By providing a reliable way to keep vital bio-medications cold, SunCool helps protect vulnerable lives and strengthens healthcare delivery in off-grid and low-resource areas.

At Junior Achievement Zambia (JA Zambia), we are proud to empower young people to see entrepreneurship as a viable career path for both girls and boys. We believe that innovation, confidence, and problem-solving skills developed early can shape future leaders, job creators, and change-makers.

We are ready and open to partnering with organisations that share our vision, so we can reach and train more students to believe in themselves, build solutions, and truly own their success.

Together, we can give more local ideas a global stage.

The Matero Girls Team has earned a prestigious spot at the 2026 Girls Lead Camp in Ghana after an outstanding performance at the 2025 Company of the Year Competition in Nigeria.

The team impressed judges with their exceptional leadership, resilience, teamwork, and confidence demonstrated through their participation in the JA Company Programme.

This remarkable achievement will see the girls inducted into the 10 Million African Girls Community following their participation in the Delta Airlines LEAD Camp, opening doors to mentorship, global networks, and life-changing opportunities that will prepare them for a brighter future.

We are incredibly proud of these young leaders who continue to represent Zambia with excellence on the continental stage.

We are excited and proud to announce that Matero Girls Secondary School is representing Zambia at this yearโ€™s JA Africa Company of the Year (COY) Competition taking place in Abuja, Nigeria. The COY competition brings together brilliant young innovators from across the continentโ€”students who are designing practical, sustainable solutions to address pressing climate challenges in their communities.

After emerging as national champions last month, the Matero Girls team earned their place on the continental stage with their groundbreaking innovation: a solar-powered mini refrigerator designed to store bio-medicine safely and efficiently. Their solution tackles a critical issue in healthcare, especially for rural communities where access to consistent refrigeration remains a challenge.

These remarkable young women have demonstrated exceptional creativity, resilience, and leadership. Their work reflects JA Zambiaโ€™s commitment to nurturing future-ready skills in innovation, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and problem-solving.

As they compete against top student enterprises from across Africa, we celebrate their passion and determination. They are not only representing Matero Girls and JA Zambiaโ€”they are representing the hopes and potential of young Zambians who are shaping a better, more sustainable future.

We are incredibly proud of this team and wish them the very best in Abuja. Their journey is a powerful reminder that when young people are empowered, they can transform their ideas into life-changing impact.
