I saw a post where a lady said she used a particular pad and noticed something.

She changed from tampons to a particular brand of pad, and since she started using it, her period that used to be very heavy and long has shortened, and it’s not as heavy as it used to be.

Not just that, she also realized that her blood is always dark when she uses the pad.

So when I read it, I was like ah, maybe it’s due to oxidation.

But I was more curious about the change in her cycle the shortening of her menstrual flow.

So I went to my source trust me and Google🤣. I checked it, and it’s actually possible that the pads or tampons you use can alter your menstrual cycle. They contain chemicals that can even cause worse things in the body.

Hey God, I don’t even know what to say here.

Imagine what is going into our bloodstream.

Why won’t we be having serious cases of PCOS and high cases of infertility?

Plastics are just everywhere.

Today Whisper a Dream Foundation, together with Zambia at large, proudly commemorated World Health Day under the theme: “Together for Quality Health: Informed by Science.”
The Minister of Health, Dr. Alex Katakwe, highlighted Zambia’s progress in strengthening laboratory services, research, surveillance, and public health systems. These efforts have improved disease detection, treatment, monitoring, and response, bringing quality healthcare closer to communities—an essential part of primary health care.
During the event, Whisper a Dream Foundation had the opportunity to share and explain the work we do, focusing on empowering communities through health education. This included raising awareness on:
📌 Menstrual hygiene and health
📌 Understanding the menstrual cycle and managing bleeding
📌 Ways to manage period pain
📌 The importance of dignity and access to safe menstrual practices
Because true health goes beyond treatment,it includes knowledge, awareness, and empowerment.
Together, we move forward in building a healthier, informed nation.

Yesterday, 21st March 2026, we stood together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day .a day that reminds us that every extra chromosome carries extra love, extra strength, and extra purpose.
Through collaboration between Whisper a Dream Foundation and Hearts and Minds Zambia, mothers, parents, and guardians came together not just to learn but to understand, to break stigma and to embrace their children fully.
We had open conversations about what Down Syndrome really is, breaking myths and building confidence in families. One of the most powerful moments was discussing menstrual hygiene for girls with Down syndrome because every girl deserves dignity, knowledge, and care as she grows.
Parents and guardians were encouraged to shift their perspective: don’t be the limitation be the support system. For children are not defined by their challenges, but by their unique abilities, their joy, and the love they bring into our lives every single day.
To end the day on a meaningful note, sanitary pads were distributed to girls of age in the presence of their mothers ensuring both support and understanding continues even at home.
This was more than a celebration. It’s a call to families and communities: Let’s create safe spaces, educate one another, and stand together for inclusion.
Remember
1.Periods are natural for every girl, including those with Down syndrome and Menstruation doesn’t discriminate and neither should care, education, and support

Scotland has become the first country in the world to make tampons, sanitary pads, and other period products completely free for anyone who needs them.

Under the law, schools, colleges, and public facilities must provide these essentials at no cost, helping ensure that no one has to struggle to access basic hygiene products.

Supporters say the move tackles period poverty, making everyday life a little less stressful and far more accessible for millions of people. 💪

A huge step forward for health, dignity, and equality — and many hope more countries will follow Scotland’s lead. 🌍💜
