Zambia Electronic Sports Association’s mission is to promote Electronic Sports as true sports, and become the part of regional and international body in charge of maintaining, promoting and supporting it. In order to achieve these goals, the ZeSA is focused
on four core projects:
- Increase the number of member Clubs, Teams and Players
- Create regulations and standards for national e-Sports
- Increase number of Female Participation
- Host the national e-Sports world championship
In order to become an national e-sports body that is true to its name, the ZeSA is working with Coperate bodies, governmental bodies, international sports organisations and The National Sports Council Of Zambia in order to achieve the greater goal of uniting the entire e-Sports world under one jurisdiction. The Zambia Electronic Sports Association (ZeSA) is a national organisation based in Zambia that attempts to promote e-Sports (Electronic Sports) as true sports beyond language, race and cultural barriers. Electronic sports (e-Sports) is a term for organized video game competitions, especially between professionals. Although e-sports have long been a part of video game culture, competitions have seen a large surge in popularity in recent years. While competitions before around the year 2000 were largely between amateurs, the proliferation of professional competitions and growing viewership now supports a significant number of professional players and teams, and many video game developers now build features into their games designed to facilitate such competition. The large-scale events, the efforts of professionals to be the best and the enormous fan reaction to each event that is presented in today's e-Sports are serving as the proof of e-Sports being a true sport like any other. With a spirit of innovation and challenge, the Zambia Electronic Sports Association is poised to continue to play an important role in National, Regional and Global e-sports and create the new leisure culture of 21st century.
