Agents of Change Foundation Zambia Agents of change Zambia is a youth led initiative with the aim of catalyzing a generation of ethical young leaders through leadership and media training

We are a group of young passionate and visionary Zambian who have proved to be agents of change in our communities. We are a product of UNICEF Zambia Ambassadors programme and the Youth Reporters Network of the Children's Radio Foundation of South Africa. We equip young people with writing, audio recording, interviewing and storytelling techniques that help enhance their ability and capacity to be the voice of the most marginalized and vulnerable in order to foster change and development in their communities. Our vision is to promote the voices of young people by equipping and empowering them with relevant tools and skills in communication skills and radio production for them to be agents of real change in their communities and beyond.

Meet our Moderator Kainja Esther Yobe a radio host and freelance media consultant who hosts a show on LAKA FM, broadcasting bilingually in 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐚, and runs her own freelance brand offering 𝐌𝐂 & 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, voice-over, and social media consulting.⁣
⁣
She serves as Programs Coordinator for Meyana Foundation's supporting young girls through skills training, and is a youth reporter and advocate ¡with Agents of Change Foundation Zambia, She founded Project KEY, a community health literacy initiative.⁣
⁣
Esther recently traveled to Athens, where she hosted shows alongside youth reporters Zambia and South Africa through the collaboration with Radio Workshop reflecting her work on advocating for autism mental health awareness financial literacy and people living with HIV/AIDS .

WORLD SU***DE PREVENTION MONTH | SEPTEMBER

September is a month that is especially close to our hearts at Agents of Change Foundation Zambia. As ACF, we are committed to continue creating safe spaces where young people, women, men, youth reporters, and all those we collaborate with can feel heard, supported, and valued.

As part of our commitment to raising awareness, encouraging meaningful conversations, and promoting mental health, we are hosting a special
LIVE BROADCAST this coming Monday, 28th September at 8:00 PM on our page and YouTube channel.

We are honoured to welcome two inspiring voices in the mental health space:

Lulu Roberts: Mental Health Activist, who will join us to share insights and perspectives on mental health awareness, su***de prevention, and the importance of creating supportive communities.

Womba Jemimah Sigedt Kambidima: Mental Health Advocate and two-time published author. Jemimah studied Mental Health and Clinical Psychiatry at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University (LMMU) and is a Psychiatry Clinical Consultant at MindSpace Wellness Solutions Limited ,where she contributes to mental health assessment, psychosocial support, and wellness interventions.

She recently co-authored and published the educational book Mental Health Matters, reflecting her commitment to making mental health information more accessible.

Jemimah also serves as a Committee Member for Writers Space Africa – Zambia (WSA-Z) and as the Programs and Community Outreach Lead for Mind Haven Zambia Through her work, she continues to contribute to mental health awareness and support in Zambia and beyond.

Our Monitoring, Evaluation and Communication Department participated in a Peer-to-Peer Learning Session facilitated by Zambian Governance Foundation (ZGF), focusing on “Shifting the Power.”

CELEBRATING LEADERSHIP AND INCLUSION!！

Agents of Change Foundation Zambia proudly congratulates three members of our wider ACF family on their new leadership roles:

✅ Innocent Shandulwe；elected Ward Councillor for Kasengo Ward in Chikankata.

✅ Misheck Limwanya Masheke :nominated Ward Councillor in Mazabuka under the Persons with Disabilities category, advancing inclusive representation.

✅ Madam Bertha Chanda: elected Ward Councillor for Chantente Ward in Kitwe. She participated in our Inclusive Governance: Claiming the Female Space project, which promotes women’s participation and leadership.

These milestones remind us that when people are equipped, encouraged and given opportunities to lead, communities benefit.

From youth reporting and civic engagement to public leadership this is the change we believe in.

Agents of Change participated in the just ended Zambia Community Intelligence dialogue hosted by Publish What You Pay Zambia and conveyed by The Southern Africa Trust.
The dialogue focused on the regenerating Impact, Stewardship and Equity (RISE) in the critical minerals value chain in Southern Africa.

This Dialogue brought together key government line ministries,regulatory bodies ,industry leaders and civil society and development stakeholders to strengthen community-centred governance of critical minerals. aimed at supporting policy engagement, strengthen collaboration, and contribute to regional efforts .
This dialogue contributed to strengthening community-centred approaches to critical minerals governance, validate national priorities, strengthen partnerships.

Agents of change is implementing the voices for change project in Kabwe , amplifying community voices on the Lead poisoning discourse supported by the Southern Africa Trust Fund.
