Today, Helping Hand Foundation celebrates the incredible women whose love, strength, and compassion change lives every day.

Women are often the silent heroes in our communities , the mothers, caregivers, mentors, and leaders who dedicate their lives to protecting and nurturing children, especially the less privileged, orphans, and the neglected. Through their kindness and sacrifice, hope is restored where it was once lost.
On this International Women’s Day, we honor every woman who continues to extend a helping hand, uplift vulnerable children, and build a future filled with dignity, care, and opportunity.
Your compassion shapes lives. Your strength builds communities. Your love inspires hope.

Happy International Women’s Day! 🌸

GOVERNMENT CONDEMNS INCREASED CHILD ABUSE CASES

Ministry of Community Development and Social Services Minister,Ms Doreen Mwamba, is deeply disturbed by the recent reports of horrific sexual abuse of children.

She has cited the recent report of three minors who were allegedly defiled by their father in Lusaka's Barlastone area and another of a biological father who was caught ra**ng his sick 7 year old daughter in hospital.

Ms. Mwamba says she is appalled by such incidences as they are being perpetuated by persons who are supposed to protect the children further describing these acts as a national crisis.

"These are not just news stories; these are our children, suffering in silence, betrayed by those they trust the most," said Ms Mwamba.

She has however warned that government will not sit idle and watch as innocent children suffer in betrayal at the hands of perpetrators, but will ensure justice prevails without any delay.

The Minister has since instructed that all places handling children should develop sector specific guidelines that will ensure their safety such as mandatory child protection and safeguarding policies in schools, churches, hospitals, orphanages and all institutions that come into contact with children.

She has further called for strict monitoring and vetting of those entrusted with children’s care, training for caregivers, teachers, and healthcare workers to detect and prevent abuse before it happens.

Ms Mwamba has further directed that increased awareness on children’s rights should be enhanced while safe reporting mechanisms for children’s abuses should be swiftly responded to.

Ms Mwamba has since urged all citizens to be vigilant and collectively safeguard against child abuse by being alert and reporting any suspicious incidences.

"If you see something suspicious, report it. If a child tells you something is wrong, believe them. Do not wait for tragedy to strike before you act," said Hon. Mwamba.

The Minister has since called on all citizens to be a child keeper and ensure that not a single child in this country ever falls victim to such evil again.
