DEBATE TOPIC: TAX FAIRNESS IN ZAMBIA

Is Zambia’s current tax system fair to both SMEs and large corporations?

SMEs often cite high tax and compliance costs as a barrier to growth, while larger firms benefit from scale and incentives.

So where is the balance are we building a growth-friendly tax system or creating unintended pressure points?

A stronger Kwacha can help reduce the cost of imports, fuel, and essential goods but sustained economic growth also depends on increased local production, exports, and job creation.

What sectors do you think Zambia should invest in more to strengthen the Kwacha long-term? 👇
