YESTERDAY, HISTORY WAS MADE.

On 7th May 2025, the grounds of Linda Open Community School became the birthplace of a movement, the official launch of The Health Empowerment and Awareness for Life Initiative.

Led by Breakthrough Youth Generation (BYG), this groundbreaking initiative brought together over 60 participants, including students, community youth, health professionals, CEOs, NGOs and government representatives, in a united call for youth health, empowerment and transformation.

From powerful keynote addresses to thought-provoking sessions on mental health, substance abuse, child abuse, STIs, NCDs, leadership, entrepreneurship and career development, the launch was not just impactful, it was catalytic.

We extend our deepest gratitude to The District Commissioner for Chilanga District Represented by Madam Mulenga for officially declaring the HEAL Initiative launched.

To Linda Open Community School, we say thank you for opening your gates to our Vision. We are as well sincerely grateful to every facilitator, speaker, panelist, sponsor, volunteer and student, we say thank you for making this more than an event. You made it a movement.

To the Zambian Youth, those in school and those who are not, the sick and well, the uneducated and the educated, The HEAL Initiative has begun, are you ready?

As we count down to the historic Official Launch of the HEAL Initiative, Health Empowerment and Awareness for Life, we are proud to introduce one of our esteemed facilitators: Dr. Peleg Banda.

A committed advocate for youth health and empowerment, Dr. Banda brings not only his medical expertise but also his passion for transforming lives through knowledge and action.
At the HEAL Workshop on 7th May 2025 at Linda Open Community School, Dr. Banda will lead crucial discussions on Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) — equipping our youth with vital information, preventative strategies, and the confidence to safeguard their futures.

Mr. Tembo, a distinguished Lawyer holding a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and an Advocate of the High Court of Zambia (AHCZ), brings a wealth of experience to this event.

At Breakthrough Youth Generation (BYG), HEAL is a youth-driven movement focused on Education, Empowerment, and Awareness.

HEAL stands for:
Health Empowerment and Awareness for Life.

This initiative empowers youths to take charge of their Health, Personal Development and Leadership, becoming leaders of positive change in their communities.

What is HEAL?
HEAL tackles critical youth issues, including Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Leadership Development, Career guidance, Empowerment and Relationship Management to mention but a few.

Through Workshops, Panel Discussions and Community Outreach, we equip youth with the tools to make informed decisions and build resilience.

Why HEAL?

Health: Promoting Mental, Emotional, Psychological and physical well-being among others.

Empowerment: Fostering leadership, self-worth, confidence and many others.

Awareness: Raising awareness on substance abuse, toxic relationships and poor decision-making to mention but a few.
