πŸ’ŠπŸ“²This week, UNDP India joins us, the Ministry of Health Zambia, Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency, and the SMART Zambia - e-Government Division for a special five-day mission exploring how India's award-winning digital platform can be adapted to track and manage essential medicines here in Zambia.

eVIN has already transformed vaccine supply chains in India by giving health workers real-time visibility of stock levels. The goal is to bring that same intelligence to essential medicines in Zambia β€” reducing stockouts, cutting wastage, and making sure the right medicines are in the right place at the right time. 🌍

This is in action β€” one developing country sharing proven solutions with another.

A smarter future for artisanal and small-scale mining starts with better systems.

Under the ACP-EU Development Minerals Programme, UNDP is supporting the Government of Zambia’s efforts to introduce the Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining Digital Administration System, a step toward more transparent, efficient and inclusive mineral resource governance.

The system is designed to modernise administration, support better data use, strengthen accountability, and contribute to the progressive formalisation of artisanal and small-scale miners within Zambia’s mining sector.

Today’s workshop brought together representatives, partners and key stakeholders to engage on the system and its role in building a more organised, accountable and development-focused ASM sector.

Two days in the room with the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development-Zambia and the Mineral Regulatory Commission ➑️ building the blueprint for Zambia's Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining Digital Administration System.

⛏️In simple terms: A system that pulls licensing, oversight, and miner services out of paper queues and into something faster, fairer, and easier to reach β€” wherever you mine from in Zambia.

Through a partnership between the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States , European Union in Zambia and UNDP, we are supporting a sector that supports tens of thousands of livelihoods gets brought into the formal economy on fair terms.

Days 1 and 2 are done. The work continues. πŸ’ͺ
