JAZ Leadership at NIF Partners Meeting in Oslo, Norway.

Judo Association of Zambia (JAZ) General Secretary Mr. Mabvuto Ng’uni and Administrative Director Ms.Carol Chipupu are currently in Oslo, Norway, attending the NIF Partners Meeting.

The delegation arrived in Oslo on 20 September 2026 and has since taken part in a series of meetings and presentations held at Ulleval Stadion.

The sessions have provided an opportunity for partners to share experiences, present their programmes and discuss areas of collaboration and development in sport.

JAZ representatives have also participated in presentations and engagements with other partners during the meeting.
The meeting which started on 20th September 2026 will end on 26th September 2026.

Congratulations to Judo Association of Zambia President, Mr Alfred Foloko, on graduating with Distinction from the MEMOS XXVIII Executive Masters in Sport Organisations Management programme in Olympia, Greece.

President Foloko successfully completed the 2025–2026 programme, supported by Olympic Solidarity, which brought together sports leaders and professionals from around the world.

As part of his studies, he developed a project titled “Governance Framework for National Federations Affiliated with the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ)”, aimed at strengthening governance, accountability and leadership within Zambian sport.

Judo Association of Zambia is proud of this remarkable achievement and congratulates President Foloko on his continued commitment to sports leadership and development.

President Foloko also serves as President of the National Olympic Committee of Zambia, Third Vice President of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa, Vice President of the African Judo Union and Development Director at the International Judo Federation.

Congratulations, President Foloko! Your achievement is an inspiration to the Judo family and the sporting community in Zambia and beyond.

MUSA BISCUITS NATIONAL JUD LEGUE ,THE BATTLE FOR THE TOP FOUR CONTINUES!

The Musa Biscuits National Judo League is heading to Kitwe, and there is still plenty to fight for!

Green buffalos judo club remain comfortably at the top of the standings, but behind them, the battle is still wide open!

Green Eagles and Nkwazi Judo Club are going head-to-head in the race for second and third place. Every point could make a difference!

And then there is the battle for fourth place…

Ippon(OYDC Zambia - Sports Development Centre ), Red Arrows and even Sables Nua Judo club Kabwe will be looking to collect as many points as possible and strengthen their position in the Top 4.

Ippon recently gave everyone something to talk about when they came out third at the Japanese ambassadors cup ,defeating Red Arrows who came out 4th at the Japanese Ambassador’s Judo Cup.

Now, with the Musa League points on the line, can Ippon continue proving themselves, or will Red Arrows come back ready to show that they are still a team to beat?Or Maybe Sables Nua Judo club Kabwe will be in the top 4?

+70KG | CADET ,A SHOWDOWN THAT LIVED UP TO THE HYPE

One of the bouts we had our eyes on ahead of the 36th Japanese Ambassador’s Judo Cup was the much-anticipated +70kg contest between Zambia’s Sasha Kapumpa and Zimbabwe’s Makanaka Nherera.

When the judokas stepped onto the tatami, Kapumpa showed her class and experience, putting together a dominant performance to claim gold in the +70kg category.

JEROVINHO PHILIPE — +100KG CHAMPION 🥇

Jerovinho Philipe of Mayukwayukwa Judo for Peace Was crowned the +100kg Champion at the 36th Japanese Ambassador’s Judo Cup, taking home the Gold Medal.

Grateful for the opportunity, Jerovinho extends his appreciation to his Coach and everyone who supports him and believes in his journey, and to those who continue to believe in Judo as a sport that creates opportunities and positively changes lives.

Judo is more than a sport ,it is an opportunity.
