We at Life Focus Zambia believe that in each one of us there is a soul, spirit, element, call it whatever you would like, that makes us ‘us’ – who you are, who I am, who we are; that bit of us that exists separate to our physical bodies; that part of us leaves us when our time on this earth is up. It is that bit, this bit, that we call ‘Ubuntu Bwesu’; its this Ubuntu Bwesu, in you, in me, in our n
eighbour, in everyone that we focus of nurturing and developing here at Life Focus. The word Ubuntu means humanity, people or humanness and the Ubuntu philosophy or culture has been made widely known outside of South Africa by Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Nelson Mandela.
“:– the essence of being human. Ubuntu speaks particularly about the fact that you can't exist as a human being in isolation. It speaks about our interconnectedness”
Archbishop Desmond Tutu
Here at Life Focus, Ubuntu Bwesu quite simply means Us. So how to we help: by having worthwhile discussions on important topics and subjects that affect our everyday lives in some way. Discussions that not only educate us but encourage and inspire us to live the best versions of ourselves and help everyone else do the same. We have discussions on many topics including but not limited to:
parenting (including pregnancy, single parenting, co-parenting and step parenting)
marriage (and relationships) issues including domestic and family violence, separation and divorce, family disputes
workplace mediation
drug and alcohol issues
emotional regulation (self-esteem, anger, grief, loss)
