As delicate and beautiful as a rose and as essential and precious as copper is to Zambia's economy. Here you will meet many women and girls going through many different social issues which hinder them from living to their potential and being the

copper rose they are meant to be. It will highlight most of these issues so that we can use this understanding to generate solutions, empower and educate.

The global theme is “Together for a ” and our campaign theme is “Her Flow, Her Power.” 🌸

World Menstrual Hygiene Day is observed every year on 28 May

• May (5th month) represents the average 5 days of menstruation 🩸
• The 28th represents the average 28-day menstrual cycle 🔁
• 1 reusable sanitary pad can last up to 18 months with proper care
• 1 conversation about menstruation can change how a girl sees her body and her confidence forever

As we mark this day, we also reflect on young girls who still lack access to sanitary pads. Reusable sanitary pads remain a practical, sustainable, and dignified solution that can support education and confidence.

This week, Copper Rose Zambia participated in a two-day engagement at Chakunkula School in collaboration with the Flow Podcast focused on menstrual health, SRHR, positive masculinity, and youth well-being for both girls and boys.

Our facilitator, Pralin, led an important session on positive masculinity, encouraging young boys to challenge harmful stereotypes that pressure them to always appear “tough” or emotionally distant. Instead, he emphasized the strength in emotional expression, respect, empathy, and supporting the girl child.

Other sessions also guided pupils on puberty, hygiene, personal boundaries, and making informed decisions about their health and future, creating a safe space for open dialogue and learning.

At Copper Rose Zambia, we remain committed to empowering young people with knowledge that builds healthier and more equitable communities.

📢 Consultancy Opportunity | Regional Advocacy Toolkit on the Age of Access

Copper Rose Zambia (CRZ) is inviting qualified consultants to develop a comprehensive Regional Advocacy Toolkit to support coordinated advocacy for the revision of Age of Access policies for adolescent SRHR services in the East and Southern Africa (ESA) region.

This assignment is part of the AMPLIFY Health Project, supported by the Regional SRHR Fund under Hivos Southern Africa.

🔍 Key Responsibilities:
✅ Desk review of existing research and policy materials
✅ Synthesis of evidence on SRHR policy gaps in the ESA region
✅ Development of advocacy messages, policy asks & stakeholder engagement strategies
✅ Integration of youth participation, gender equality & human rights frameworks
✅ Production of practical tools, including planning templates and messaging guides
