๐Ÿ’ซToday was nothing short of amazing as we concluded a two day training facilitated by the University Teaching Hospital under ministry of health. This was a community and civil society engagement workshop.

We were discussing the new pre-exposure prophylaxis lenacapavir, we discussed how the ministry of health will be working with community members to ensure no one is left behind.

We are delighted to announce that we are now part of the Change advisory board (CAB) member for the Scale - it project. This is well recieved as we are excited to see how we can ensure that members of our community can access it.

We look forward to it being implemented well in communities around Zambia ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

Our Mentor ๐Ÿ™Œ Happy International Womenโ€™s Day!!

On this International Womenโ€™s Day, Africanpud celebrates and honours Judy Chang.

Judy is the former Executive Director of INPUD. For more than fifteen years, she has worked in community health and development, focusing on harm reduction and drug policy, from the grassroots to global advocacy. She has written widely on gender, public health, and the marginalisation of people who use drugs.
Judy helped build and strengthen regional networks, and one achievement we still feel every day is her role in advancing the Robert Carr Fund, which remains the main and core donor for AfricaNPUD and many other regional networks.

Today, as Program Manager at Open Society Foundations with the Advancing Global Drug Policy Reform Opportunity, Judy continues to champion the rights, health, and leadership of people who use drugs. Her recent CAROL AND TRAVIS JENKINS AWARD at the 28th Harm Reduction International Conference, and her work co-creating the Jude Byrne Emerging Female Leader Award with INHSU, show her lasting commitment to lifting up women who use drugs and women in harm reduction everywhere.

Africanpud thanks Judy Chang, and through her, we honour all women who use drugs and all women leading change across the world.

Every day, we witness the negative effects of punitive drug policies around the world. The war on drugs does more harm than good. We must divest from this unjust drug war and invest in communities, health and justice instead.

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

As we celebrate this Christmas season, we extend our heartfelt wishes of love, hope, and solidarity to each and every one of you. This time of year reminds us of the importance of compassion, dignity, and standing together as a community.

We honour your strength, resilience, and courage, and we reaffirm our commitment to advocating for the health, human rights, and wellbeing of people who use drugs across Zambia. May this season bring moments of peace, renewed hope, and the assurance that you are not alone.

As we look ahead to the New Year, may we continue to support one another, raise our voices, and work collectively towards a society rooted in care, justice, and respect for all.

Merry Christmas and warm wishes for a hopeful and empowering New Year. ๐ŸŽ„โœจ

๐ŸŒโค๏ธ World AIDS Day 2025
Solidarity โ€ข Awareness โ€ข Action

Today, we join the global community in honouring World AIDS Day โ€” a day to remember those we have lost, celebrate the strength of those living with HIV, and recommit ourselves to fighting stigma, discrimination, and inequality.

For people who use drugs, for women, for our communities, and for every person affected by HIV, this day reminds us that health is a human right. No one should be denied care, dignity, or support because of who they are or what they have experienced.

As Zambia Network of People Who Use Drugs, we stand for:
โค๏ธ Access to HIV services without judgment
โค๏ธ Harm reduction as essential healthcare
โค๏ธ Ending stigma and discrimination in all spaces
โค๏ธ Centering the voices of people with lived experience
โค๏ธ Building a future where no one is left behind

Letโ€™s continue raising awareness, supporting one another, and demanding policies that protect and uplift our communities.

Together, we can end AIDS.
Together, we can build a healthier, more inclusive Zambia.

โœจ Wrapping Up a Powerful 3-Day Training! โœจ

Yesterday marked the final day of our transformative 3-day training. We were honoured to be graced by a representative from the Human Rights Commission, whose presence strengthened our commitment to advancing human rights for all.

We also took some beautiful photos with our peers to commemorate the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, held under this yearโ€™s theme: โ€œInvest to Prevent Violence Against Women & Girls.โ€ ๐Ÿงก

A heartfelt thank you to the International Network of People Who Use Drugs (INPUD) and the African Network of People Who Use Drugs (AfricaNPUD) for their unwavering support. Your dedication fuels our work, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to advance our mission and uplift our community.

Together, we rise. โœŠ๐Ÿงก

Today was the second day of the IDUIT training. It's been an intense training and truly we have learnt a lot, from advocacy to harm reducing services, OST, OAT, SRHR, human rights and overdose prevention etc.

Some of our members also paid a cutesy call to the national AIDS council which was very fruitful and exciting as we embark on our journey to provide HIV/AIDS / TB treatment in our communities.

We were also fortunate to have the executive director of INPUD, Anton Basenko join us and encourage the work virtually. We truly appreciate all the help and effort that has been put in to ensure that we can establish ourselves well.

We look forward to our training tomorrow!!!

๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฒ Happy Independence Day, Mother Zambia! ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

As we celebrate this day of freedom and unity, let us also take a moment to reflect on the kind of nation we are building โ€” one where no one is left behind.

At the Zambia Network of People Who Use Drugs, we believe that independence must include the right for every person to live with dignity, equality, and access to health and social support.

We call upon our government and society at large to ensure that people who use drugs are not failed by the system โ€” that they are not pushed to the margins or criminalized, but instead supported with compassion, respect, and opportunity.

True independence means freedom for all โ€” freedom from stigma, discrimination, and exclusion. Together, we can build a Zambia where every person shares equally in the nationโ€™s resources, justice, and hope.

๐Ÿ’š Leave no one behind.
